[7.3/10] Solid episode. Feels like we’ve done this sort of moral dilemma with TIna a lot, so it’s lost a bit of its novelty. That said, her having walked into a cheating gray area and worrying that the “bad girl” is going to tell on her has legs as a premise. Watching Tina flip out, especially while trapped inside as a snow day, leads to some amusing Tina-isms. And the advent of a new therapy puppet from Mr. Frodn, “Accountability Billy” is a good avatar for her guilt and anxiety. The rest of the family helping her calm down resolves the episode well and the fact that Tina resolves to accept the situation, only to find out the bad girl didn’t tell on her after all, is a nice enough capper.
It’s the B-story that really carries this one, though, with a lot of humor in the other material. Bob trying to call a heating guy to help fix the HVAC at the house leads to all sorts of great hijinks where he inadvertently “razzes” the guy. Bob freaking out himself and making things worse with his attempts to fix it are a big laugh.
Everybody else is in rare form too. Linda getting excited about “hot crackers” and her usual one-liners are superb. Teddy’s blase attitude to skidding on the road and rushing through a job so he can get back to help Bob and Linda are a hoot. Gene and Louise building a pillow fort in the living room has plenty of charm. The only bit I didn’t really like was Gene’s repeating a radio jingle. Otherwise, there’s a lot of good laughs here.
Overall, this one works better as a laugh fest than as a story, but the story is fine and the laughs are superb, so it works.
