8.7/10. Another week, another episode of Bob's Burgers that makes me laugh my ass off. Ahhh Tina, her incredible mix of confidence and insecurity are a recipe for endearing chuckles every time. The A-story was superb, with Tina believing she has withc power, and making attempts to use it to get the things she wants -- like winning the costume contest over Tammy -- only to find that in her newfound bravado, she ticks off the crossing guard, who is herself a witch.
The whole witch premise, with the "powers" and the ensuing "curse" being in Tina's head, made for some great moments, both with Tina's bold new gothic look and attitude and her absolute fear after the "curse" was placed. The climax of the episode, where she realizes it was probably all in her head, was a little pat, but overall there was a lot of great humor from Tina being Tina, with both her boldness and her timidness coming in turn. What's more, the show always gets consistent laughs with Gene and Louise as what amounts to Tina's accomplices and Greek Chorus, so it was nice to see that structure here.
I also consistently enjoy when we get an A-story with a kids' adventure, and B-story with the parents and Teddy dealing with some mundane but amusing difficulty. The pumpkin thief had a lot in common with the prior turkey "thievery" plot, but Bob's quotidian frustrations and accusations at Jimmy Pesto, coupled with Linda and Teddy fearing a supernatural cause, led to lots of great laughs. And the reveal that it's Mr. Fishoeder, completely misunderstanding the nature of jack-o-lanterns (not to mention bikes, with not one but two great related brick jokes) was the perfect capper.
Overall, it's another of Bob's holiday classics, with a great deal of fun and a great deal of funny for Halloween.
