BoJack Horseman

Season 4

Sometimes very emotionally heavy; even for this show - but it really worked, and it worked well. Great writing!

The show that keeps on giving. Real, emotional and sad, but still so heartwarming.

The usual Bojack: sometimes it's great, sometimes it's decent, sometimes it's amazing.

A steaming pile of horsesh*t, BoJack Horseman’s fourth season is uninspired and directionless. The supporting characters try to carry the show as BoJack takes a backseat; Mr. Peanutbutter runs for governor, Todd launches a new business venture (clown dentists), and Princess Carolyn tries her hand as a talent manager, and in the background, BoJack is confronted by a young horse that may be his illegitimate daughter. With everyone kind of in their own stories the season feels really disjointed and lacks the usual character interactions that make the show so fun. Still, it’s not all bad, some of the sketches are funny and there are a couple of amusing satirical bits. It may have its moments, but it’s undeniable that Season 4 of BoJack Horseman sh*ts the bed.

Still a mixed bag with its highs and lows, but the highs are getting higher and higher. Episode 6 and 11 are probably some of the best so far. Meanwhile, I am starting to realize that I am partly BoJack and partly Diane. Can't feel for the other characters, but the way they unfolded Beatrice's issues in the end and at the same time recontextualized every little detail was quite impressive (and heartbreaking).
