It starts and ends really strong, but falls flat about 2/3 in.
Its just way too predictable after you've seen a few episodes.
Nonetheless worth a watch if you watch a lot of stuff.
If you watch 5 shows a year, you should probably watch something else.
Solid horror piece, both psychological and body. Antosca's signature shines through from the get go. It does draw back a lot from Channel Zero, but with the Netflix buck giving it extra production value. Very strong in both cinematography and narrative departments. Might expect just another revenge tale, but the ruthlessness and drive of the characters made it exceed expectations.
I absolutely adored this from the jump. Great psychological and body horror, great performances, very weird, and consistently entertaining.
Netflix has this as a limited series, but the ending definitely felt like there was more story to tell. it was gross, it was weird, but i had a good time watching it.
[Netflix] A strange, bizarre and surreal story that is influenced by the B horror films of the eighties, and especially by David Cronenberg's gore psychological stories. There is a certain limitation in the proposal, as if it didn't go as far as the story needs (Netflix restrictions?), and a drift towards absurd humor that does not benefit it. But it is so unpredictable that its limitations can be forgiven.
I started this randomly as it looked entertaining and I must say after bombing through all 8 episodes over a night and morning I was very entertained. On the whole if you like horror with a few good scares and a little psychological horror in it's pretty good, and fairly good with the gore too.

This was an interesting ride. I feel for what this is, they should have been 2-3 episodes shorter. I also feel like they should have gone wilder, more weird/bizarre. But I did still like it.
As this is called a "limited series" I do not expect to see a 2nd season.

Totally bored the tits off me,couldn't make it past episode 2.
Not without issues and Salazar struggles at times but still a great story and a great watch.

Brand New Cherry Flavor is a short and sweet adaptation of the novel by the same name (unsure if the book is better, not yet read it). It's moody, funny, is steeped in 90s aesthetic--the decade in which the series is set--and has an excellent soundtrack. It features body horror, occult themes, sex, drug use and a lot of violence.
We follow the story of Lisa Nova, an amateur filmmaker who created a short film that's good enough to capture the attention of Lou Burke, a once Hollywood somebody trying to cling onto fame . The series follows the two and hell breaks loose.
The first episode moves slow, but in time the series picks up the pace. I was truly not prepared for the first WTF moment but that's what got me hooked, as well as waiting to see how far Lisa would go to ensure her film remained hers. The story is unfortunately predictable in quite a few instances. But ultimately I enjoyed the gorgeous cinematography and the truly are bizarre scenes that left me picking my jaw up off the floor and/or trying not to throw up. This is not a show for the faint of heart, you will be disgusted. I can see this becoming a cult classic for those of us who enjoyed Ginger Snaps, The Craft, etc. If you watch this and expect to take it seriously you're going to have a bad time. If you want something fun and dark, give it a go.
