Siding with an enemy, basically losing her connection to home and school. All feeling truly lost. But still fighting on. She made a huge sacrifice having to kill Angel too. Definitely stands the test of time as one of the best finales.

The Buffy Angel romance certainly captures that die hard teenage love feeling. More than Stelena, and with more nostalgic nuance than Bella and Edward.

Probably one of the best season finales of all time.

It was nice to see Angel back at the end as Angelus was wearing pretty thin. I love Kristine Sutherland as Joyce, and it was nice to get a little more of Robia LaMorte. That was a great scene overall with Giles, Dru, and Jenny.

Sarah Michelle Gellar continues to show why she was chosen as the lead. Stellar acting; she absolutely knocks it out of the park and makes you feel every shade and degree of emotion Buffy experiences.

“Have you tried… not being a slayer?” That whole scene was a brilliant stand-in for a traumatic coming out. Buffy might be a campy show about monsters under the bed, but it’s not afraid to dig deep into what makes us scared in the real world. What a season finale! Even a grouch like me couldn’t help but cry a little.

In retrospect it feels a bit like they’re clearing the field for next season’s big bad. I’m going to miss Spike, as possibly the best part of this episode was anything with James Marsters.

One of the best season finales yet, and super glad they didn’t drag out another bad guy for two seasons.

Let’s hope the last few seasons don’t loose their touch like other shows.
