The heartbreak at the very end of this episode is just too much. It is an emotionally engaging episode that walks a fine line between compelling and contrived. Though I am most certainly not a Riley hater, his character is written awfully in this episode just for the sake of establishing some tension between the couple that could be worked out over the course of the episode.

What makes this episode work is Oz and his drama, which is very well realized. For a character who first appeared at the very beginning of the second season, this episode marks his final appearance. One of the show's finest characters, he bows out in wonderful fashion. If you thought the ending to Wild at Heart was sad, keep the tissues close by on this one. Perfect final scene between Oz and Willow.
