A harrowing episode with excellent writing and directing that makes for a very accurate portrayal of what goes on in those first few hours after a loved one dies.

Additional note: There is no background music anywhere in this entire episode.

One of the best episodes I have ever seen in any TV show. Chilling.

This must be the best episodes of TV Noone wants to watch, it really slowly and thoroughly punches you in the gut. It's really unexpected that a fantasy show about super heroes and monsters made one of the most realistic portrayals of death. Willow and especially Anya really are the ones that completely kill me. Hannigan and Caulfield really outdid themselves, how they never even got nominated for some big awards is beyond me.

The single best episode of television I've ever seen, and the most realistic portrayal of human behavior I've seen.

As someone who suddenly lost a parent, I felt this episode hit me close to the heart. Excellent job by both the actors and creators.

Objectively the best episode of the series, and my least favorite to rewatch.

Much like remembering where you were when you hear about certain news events, I distinctly remember where I was and who I was with watching this when it aired. I’m doing better overall, but I haven’t gotten to part with Anya yet. I do wonder about the paramedics behaving as they did and whether that’s realistic.
