Good thing Buffy didn't tell Riley she ran after him and missed him by seconds during the helicopter departure moment.
A lot of time passed and who knows if she ever fully regretted him leaving (he never came up like Angel did, and while he seemed the perfect boyfriend in concept, something was missing).

Each time Buffy fell for Spike in some way during season 6, let her guard down a bit, he then disgusted or let her down in some way. Really highlighted in this episode with the Doctor business.
I like Riley. F*ck the haters. Spike is an annoying, creepy stalker.
