Clickbait 2021

I agree with everyone who says it starts great but turns bad after 3 or 4 episodes. Ended up feeling like a long lifetime movie.

First three episodes were really good, then it got slow and had a completely random and trash ending.

A very good crime drama that deals with modern issues intertwined with those that have been around since the dawn of time. And it shows how a person’s seemingly innocuous actions can lead to terrible ramifications for many.

It has great acting from all, especially Zoe Kazan (as she always is). My only critique would be that it felt like it could’ve been a little tidier at 6 episodes instead of 8. Otherwise, good binge material. Finished in one day.

Would recommend to anyone that enjoys crime mysteries.

I knew who did it in the first episode... but I was completely wrong!

I don't understand the people trashing this show.. it's actually quite good and you don't see the end coming.

There are times that it has a low-budget feel to it and the dialogue is dodgy, but then it sorts itself out. Worth watching.
10/10

Great start but a very predictable and lame ending

I found myself drawn to this series. I thought that the title was clever. However a couple of episodes in the series slows down and you realize that there was nothing there but a title that promised more. I can think of another title for this series but it would give away to much.

Sophie's character is so annoying! What a bad actress too.

The best episode was the first one. The rest is not bad but feels like 13 reasons why....

And that ending? No one knows how to make endings anymore....

I actually liked it, had fun watching it. Never thought the killer would be who it was!

Ending completely fucked up (non sense)

This was actually ok until the last two episodes. Kind of made the entire thing a waste. IMHO

I mean, if the battery in your remote is dead and this is already playing then I guess it's worth wasting an entire day, maybe? If you're unlike me though and you haven't spilled super-glue and attached yourself to the couch semi-permanently then I would suggest getting up and "changing the channel" to nearly anything else.

The writing and acting is sub-mediocre and the ending completely predictable. The most entertaining part is them trying to pass off Melbourne and all the very Aussie aspects of the show as San Francisco and Oakland, California.

Hard pass Squirrely Dan.

Couldn't get into it :smirk:

only on first episode so... anyways, the sister is a bit of a hammy dick actor but it's definitely intriguing. worth a look at an interesting concept of an extremely viable scenario.

Hilarious but also very bingeworthy

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Clickbait’:

  1. Well, they certainly got me with that final twist. I’ve read thoughts from a few people saying how far-fetched it is. But honestly, these days, I really don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility at all.

  2. This show gave me some first-season 13 Reasons Why vibes, as it focuses on a single character each episode and how they’re connected to the central mystery. I personally enjoy that plot device and I thought it worked well here.

  3. All in all, I liked it! While it wasn’t anything particularly groundbreaking, there were moments that moved me. Moments of tragedy, along with some solid performances, that made me care about the well-being of even minor characters. Many shows don’t succeed in that.

I just kept waiting for Nev to show up and put an end to all their nonsense.

Writers, when people say they love twists, they don't mean they want several in every episode. It starts good, it gets a little worse after that but it's still watchable. The finale though, absolute shit.

it's slow at the beginning but better towards the end. Every suspect had the motivation to commit the crime so i'm really in to it without the doubt. it's not a must watch but you can check it out while you're run out of recommendtion. be careful for having relationships online, make sure to meet in person with accompany otherwise it might be dangerous as you can see from this series.

What if they didn’t had sex that evening? What if he hadn’t go for a glass of water after? What if they didn’t have hammer? What if they had kids?

This was kinda blah, with an ending that had zero foreshadowing, although it did make sense. The worst part for me is the accents of some of the actors. Even though this supposedly takes place in Cali, nothing about the setting has any bearing on the plot or action at all. I'd rather just hear people's normal accents than sit thru 8 episodes of them failing an "American" one. Also, not everyone in America speaks with an American accent anyway. Another dumb nitpick is the "phone dialing" sound, which wasn't the American one. Couldn't pay for a different sound effect?

actually kinda enjoyed this contrary to what other people said hahaha except that i can totally feel how useless the police are. damn never seen police that looks like they'd take on anything but are actually very useless lol the netizens did better job at finding clues.

[Netflix] The mystery is built on the concealment of information, which frustrates the involvement in the plot. There are characters only suitable for suspense, but unnecessary for the narration (the children). The reflection on the loss of identity and the manipulation of social networks is as superficial as it is inconsequential. It is an exercise in continuous cliffhangers that hold onto a cheating script.

Pass-this tv show is sooo boring:weary:

This was a few steps above most mystery/thrillers that are put out these days. It keeps you guessing right up to the last episode. Of course, in the meantime, it gives us a ton of red herrings to chew on. There are a couple of episodes where the story slows way down tho.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

binged this with family while we were housebound due to Hurricane Ida storms. it was easy to watch, had a lot of twists and kept us interested in the whodunit/investigation throughout.
