Trish Van Devere gives a great, steely performance as TV Executive Kay, but the story itself feels a bit bloated. For example, the entire b-plot with her addiction-troubled friend was completely unnecessary and really could have been dropped. It would have been greatly improved by editing it down to the shorter length of earlier Columbo episodes.
