Again a mix of episodes. It's bold (not in a good way) to take the characters, the main themes of the plot, and rewrite everything in the middle. But that still kinda work this time (at least for the eco terrorists part, less on Faye's).
Now that we saw her more, there's something there, but still can't see Faye in her :/
Basically starting with Faye's background really breaks it. In the original it's a late, very emotional discovery, when we already know her to be very different from her past innocent self and what she's been through. Showing it before we even learn to know the current Faye is a bad choice, this is also something that kinda breaks the character.
On the other hand, Adrienne Barbeau is just perfect as Mom.
The small (and useless) side story with Julia and Vicious in each episode are a waste, specially are they really don't match the characters.
Really a 7, but Adrienne Barbeau always brings a +1 in my book.
