Solid episode. I loved Reid's return. The case was good too and even though half of the episode was devoted to Reid and his mom, the team had some funny moments together. Álvez's excavations and Rossi being the voice of wisdom wherever he goes is always perfect. And of course those holes are a portal to Hell. This was my first thought! Once again, a poor child is the cause of so many deaths because of his abusive parents.
I love how Criminal Minds always shows the psyche of others and how they profile them, but today's episode was golden. Showing Reid, who is able to profile whoever he comes across with, being unable to do so with his mom was amazing. And Diana Reid going from lovely mother to psychotic woman forgetting about his own son was incredibly well portrayed. The moments in which she was being coherent were heartbreaking. Reid is so sweet. I really missed him. I also loved the fact that he had time to solve the case despite struggling with his mom.
It was such an un-Reid thing to pull his mom out of the clinic and bring her home that I'm not sure what would happen in next episodes. I hope he doesn't leave the team. I hope JJ's words were not a foreshadowing of what could happen to Reid.
Anyways, another great episode. How will he handle his mom's situation? I just hope he doesn't leave the team. that would make it for me. I'm stick to the team. Morgan was a great loss and so was Hotch (but we all know what happened) but Reid is just too precious for this world and losing him would be a great, great loss
Why cannot they just be allowed to solve cases? The useless Hollywood writer hacks always have to drag in all kinds of personal issues and turn everything into a bloody soap.
Nice to see Reid back... and his storyline with his mom really is a very difficult situation.
