Dark: Season 1

1x03 Past and Present

The first 2 episodes were a little hard to get through but interesting enough to keep watching..
Now THIS episode triggered that "Oh shit I HAVE to watch this!" feeling I've been waiting for.

The last few minutes, esp. with the birds, coupled with a beautiful soundtrack drove a chill up my spine.

I didn't particularly enjoy the first couple of episodes but this one got me hooked. Let's hope the rest are as easy to follow.

Rarely have I felt so overwhelmed by an ensemble as by this show. This episode in particular requires you not only to memorise a heap of completely new characters but also to map them onto the corresponding older versions of themselves. The fact that the show plays in a deeply white rural town in Germany doesn't help as everyone looks exactly the same.

Episode Spoilers: Its weird that Ulrich and his mom don’t really care that there is an 11 year old boy with a bloodied face at their house. Ulrich leaves the door open and his mom just lets him leave. I get that they are still recently affected by Madds’ disappearance, but still weird to me. Maybe has something to do with the town’s culture, kids are generally left alone to do what they please.

It’s interesting seeing the younger versions of our main characters, their younger parents, and new characters we don’t see in the present timeline. Maybe we will get introduced to people in the past first and later meet them in the present. It can get somewhat confusing/hard telling who is who based on names that are hard to recall (especially the last names).

Sorry, but I needed more information.

Watched on Netflix. Now the story is becoming a little confusing, yet amusing, and makes us want to see more. It is definitely unique and odd. The only bad thing I have found is the comparison of some characters between 1986 and 2019, which is unnecessary. It is like they want to help the audience to figure out who is who. With the names and last names, it is enough. Also, this episode confirmed the mystery of the story, and now we all know that it is about time traveling combined with mystery and crime. Let's see if the next episodes surprise us.

THIS EPISODE WAS BORING AND SO SLOW, INTRODUCED SOME CHARACTERS MORE IN THIS, THAT I JUST COULD NOT STAND. THIS EPISODE LOST IT FOR ME, SUCKED ASWEL AS SUCKED ALL THE FUN AND INTEREST OUT OF THE SHOW SO FAR. IT CRAWLED THROUGH THIS EPISODE AND LIMPED ACROSS THE FINISH.
IT WAS JUST FOREIGN AND WEIRD THIS ONE. IT WANTS TO PICK UP AND GET IT'S SELF SORTED OUT ARE I'LL BE SEEING MYSELF OUT.
GOD WHERE IS SPIDES
SERIES 2 COS THIS CRAP IS KILLING ME.
WELL BACK TO
THE STRAIN SERIES 2
AT LEAST THAT IS AWESOME AND CAN HOLD MY INTEREST TILL THE PHENOMENAL
10/10+ SPIDES S2 STARTS
THIS EPISODE 4/10 AND THAT'S BEING GENEROUS.
POOR VERY POOR INDEED

People are still going in and out of that cave. I can't keep track of all the missing kids and dysfunctional parents. Everyone looks the same and drive really nice cars. The creepy guy has a suitcase with some sort of steampunk time machine in it. I don't know what's going on.
