I liked the premise and I really have a weak spot for characters like Jen, yet it wasn't enough to go through all the generic drama already seen done better elsewhere. It's decent enough to watch for dinner, but I can't see how long they can stretch this out. There have been quite a few funny moments but it wears thin pretty fast.
Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini star in the original Netflix drama Dead to Me. In season 1 Jen Harding struggles with the death of her husband and befriends an artist named Judy Hale after meeting het at a grief therapy group; but Jen’s continued investigation into her husband’s death by a hit-and-run driver leads to some disturbing discovers that threaten to tear her friendship with Judy apart. Both Applegate and Cardellini give terrific performances and have great chemistry together. And, the material is really rich, particularly in its addressing of how people deal with grief and loss. Yet while the show sets up a lot of interest issues and moral dilemmas, it ends up copping out by slowing turning the dead husband into a reprehensible character that Jen is better without. But even with its problems, Season 1 of Dead to Me is remarkably compelling and full of intrigue.

Really enjoyed this. Bit slow the first few episodes but it picks up. Great last couple episodes.
