Jen looking in the mirror at herself needed no dialogue to realise it was a call back to her conversation with Ben about surgery scars. I'm glad the show didn't feel the need to add exposition there and respected its viewers enough to know they'd get it. Also adds another layer of gravitas if you know that Christina Applegate has also had that same surgery.
