The guy who owns the boat is super suspicious. He’s everywhere, nobody really notices him, he’s way too “nice” and smooth…
A little warning for anyone considering watching this: there is nudity in this. If you don't like that, maybe skip this one.
The first 10 minutes or so were excellent, and the rest was rather lackluster. I started watching this for Mandy Patikins and kind of stayed for the cinematography and fashion - because those were stellar, in my opinion! I'm not sold about Patikins and his accent, though, which is a shame because I love him as an actor.
The storytelling had its ups and downs. For example:
The show found a clever way to deliver its considerable exposition, but at the end of the day, it is info dumping. It would've been better if we learned the information as the story progressed more naturally.
The child casting is spot on so far - that kid really looks like she could grow up to look like Violett Beane. Who is, by the way, so pretty in this.
The storyline so far is a bit confusing. I'm definitely curious as to where this is going--the past and the future. We've had a ton of stuff thrown at us, from past murders, traumatized wives sure they're being followed, a dead "investor," a disgraced famous PI, etc... But not all of it makes sense. For example, the setup, which forces Imogen and Rufus to work together, feels poorly thought out from a script perspective. It is all a result of Imogen becoming the prime suspect for Keith's death, but the circumstances that led to that are so bizarre. I am not clear on what Imogen actually did in the dead man's room or why she had to do it in the middle of the night with him in the fucking room. The whole sequence was great from the perspective of creating excitement, but it doesn't really hold up plot-wise as of this episode. Maybe it will be explained later on, though.

Nothing sophisticated, lots of tell rather than show, Violett Beane looks like blonde Tokyo from La Casa De Papel with that haircut.. good rhythm tho. Makes it for a fair guilty pleasure.
It doesn't take itself completely seriously (which I think is the main problem with these kind of series, when they do and can't pull it off), but some more Imogene-Rufus banter while investigating would have made it more fun. Instead they swing from traces of that, to drama, to soap opera - let's see if they find a more precise identity
