Zyuohger was a very good Sentai series from start to finish. The premise was solid, the characters were great, and the action was mostly well-paced! Yamato as our Red Ranger was a breath of fresh air when compared to the likes of Takaharu, Right, and Daigo before him; for once, we had a Red who was not only a strong and capable leader, but was level-headed and intelligent. As someone who couldn't stand Daigo or Takaharu, the change of pace was very much appreciated.
Really, all of the Zyuohgers were very appealing! The cast had such wonderful chemistry with one another, and I could totally see them as a polyamorous family (not unlike some of my other favorite Sentai teams). I really connected with this cast, The World in particular. I never thought I would see the day where a serious case of PTSD like his would be played both for comedy and for drama, and both done splendidly! His character arc was ultimately the one I was the most invested in over the course of the show, because he was the one I related to the most. The side characters were also appealing! I never thought I would have enjoyed the Bado storyline, but he turned out to be a great hero and ally to the team! The villains were a bit of a sore point for most of the show, only getting interesting in the last third of the story, but they did grow on me after a while. All in all, the characters were a real solid point in this show.
I would highly recommend Sentai fans watch Zyuohger, and I also think it is a good starter Sentai for new fans! It's lighthearted and fun most of the time, but it takes itself seriously enough where we can get invested in the story and characters. This was certainly a delightful addition to the Super Sentai Series.
