Very underwhelming.

So far, this show feels like a cross between Devil Wears Prada and Younger, except a lot worse.

The tone is weird. Trying to be funny but landing on awkward instead. The writing is quite full of cliches and prejudices. And the dialogue was profoundly cringy throughout (very fanfiction-y). Also, Lily's acting was quite bad at times, too over exaggerated, to the point it felt cartoonish.

I'm très disappointed.

Loving it already.
A lot of the jokes are on point. They’ve all so far played on stereotypes, but in my opinion, quite well (although maybe in Europe they might not come off as so very foreign as they might to an American audience)

That typical “Oh you have a boyfriend in Chicago? Well you don’t have one in paris ;D”
Or the entire way she was received at the office. The part where she says she’s already speaking some french and the lady straight out tells her it might be better for her not to even try… YES. THIS IS FRENCH hahah.
The whole thing about “disgusting American food”, obesity, pharmacy etc., on (a dark) point.
Following right up with how smoking apparently is pleasure, and “what would we be without pleasure?” - “German?” OMFGS hahahaha! I hope they keep dishing out like this in the entire show.

I was expecting so much more from this show... so far, an underwhelming start

There’s a fine line between smart jokes and cheap play with stereotypes. The way the French are portrayed is simplistic and almost insulting. First episode and it’s the last for me.

Without pleasure, who are we? Germans...lol that was a good one.

This is the first episode but I guess the show would be as it is described in the reviews I read: silly but entertaining at the same time. I found it rather relaxing though it is not a genre I usually watch as I am a fantasy fan. It can be useful for learning language as there is a lot of everyday informal American English and you can pick up a few French phrases as well, so from the point of view of a language learner it is a win-win. I mainly watch Netflix to practise foreign languages so this is great for me. Since I don't watch many romantic comedies (I saw only the "Bridget Jones" series as romantic comedies are not really my cup of tea) I suppose I may not be able to find all cliches the show is full of, and maybe I would enjoy it more than the people who are very familiar with these stereotypes. I also worked in marketing so the premise about a marketing job is quite interesting to me. I guess maybe some marketing vocabulary in both English and French will appear in the show.

It's a little cringy and quite a lot of stereotypes so far but that ending did definitely make me laugh. I'll keep watching because I adore Lily Collins (I do have to add that she has definitely acted better in other movies).

I liked it, but I felt cringe for some scenes....
The theme seems good to me, but the characters I hope will be developed further, so far I found them bland.
Emilio (lily) is a good actress, but I hope the series is well written...
It made me laugh at how uncomfortable the character looks....
I hope it progresses well...
The final scene was very lol...

Halfway through the first episode I thought 'Is she an actual fool?'. Emily comes across as immensely naive, even a bit dumb at times. She comes to Paris, doesn't know the language, keeps mistaking the fourth floor of her apartment building to the fifth floor (seriously girl?) and is in complete awe of literally everything and anything she sees because 'it is Paris'? Like this girl will be mesmerized by the sidewalk she's walking on.
Nevertheless, I couldn't quite stop watching either. The episode is only 30 min long so it's paced nicely. The characters are very flat still but I'm still interested to see more. So I'm giving it a shot. And I really want to get into this because I always like Lily Collins.
