Fallout: Season 1

1x05 The Past

The secrets of Vaults 31-32-33 are so far the most interesting thing going on, which is pretty on par with how exploring vaults in the games is some of the most interesting thing to do.

This is by far the most interesting episode in terms of story and also character depth. It's the first time I really cared about these characters.

The main characters make such stupid mistakes at every turn, do they learn nothing? I’m liking the little brother’s story the most because I feel the characters and story are actually progressing.

What a great episode. They returned to the shelter, let's see what happens. The acting, atmosphere and music are excellent. Let's continue watching from where we left off. I've been suffering from a shortage of TV series lately, it was like a cure.

I'm loving the intrigue with the Vault 31-32-33 system, I can't wait to see how it turns out!

things inside vault is much interesting than outside

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir's version of Battle Hymn of the Republic playing in 33 before the election gave me one of the biggest laughs. All this time, all I could think about was how much the Vault's worldview and surface-level politeness reminded me of growing up in that Church, especially the "shut the front door" style of swearing.

I love all the protagonists we are following. But an episode without Walton Goggins is cruel. Give me Walton even just a tiny scene where we check what he is doing and I'll be fine by that.

I love the Maclean little brother side plot having politics inside vault 33 and the conspiracy about their vault leaders (forgot the title). All of the plots that we follow are interesting to me. But I like the side plot of Maclean little brother a lot more, future vault leader 32?

Despite the idiotic nerfing of the power armour (getting trapped inside when the fusion core gets removed is just a stupidly dangerous feature, instead of the power armour automatically ejecting you like in the games), I think this has to be my favourite episode, simply because The Ghoul isn’t in it, lol.

Thanks for the thumbnail spoiler, marketing! :rage:

I hope they know how to develop the plot....
But shelter 31 smells like shit....

...but who cleans the "hospital"? Do they just go up every now and then and mop up?

Shelter 31. All the secrets are related to shelter 31.

So who cleaned up Vault 32? And what's going on with the 3 vaults, very intriguing.
Where are Maximus and Lucy?

Liking the Vault 31 intrigue. We are in dangerous territory of falling into the age old cliché romance of the male and female lead character characters though. Let's hope we swerve that and the show does something different!

Also I might still be looking for Person of Interest references but.. The when they were checking out the newly cleaned up Vault 32 after we the viewer have seen the destruction there only days before... And Norm swipes his finger across the newly painted white wall...
Reminded me 4x12 'Control-Alt-Delete'. After the shootout under the stock exchange.

The most in depth story so far even though it still replies on absurd coincidence and stupid, unmotivated choices for the stories to intersect and progress. For some people the commenters here are referring to Lucy's little brother when pointing to his story as the more interesting one of the episode but he is one of 4 main cast members you can easily see here on Trakt to know his name is Norm MacLean. I wouldn't mind if Maximus was killed off but I suspect the script writers were hoping to make him a better character after Lucy's influence rubs off on him. How is The Ghoul so likeable when Maximus isn't, poor writing, performance or a mix of everything?
