You gotta give it to the writers, the end was surprising, but the 9 episodes building up to that ending were one of the shittiest television i've ever seen. Dialogues were terrible, like something a teenager would write, people don't discuss like that in real life, and the swearing... oh the swearing, there was so much of it and most of it was gratuitous, altough it was being sold as a character trait, it didn't work that way.
Overall, the writing was really subpar, the cast was superb and they did their best with what they were given, the direction wasn't so bad either.
The ending was different though, but I don't know if that's reason enough to stick around for the length of the 9 other episodes.
S02 Update: God, that was so much better, why didn' they do it like that in first place?
