Ryuga breaks down after losing the fight (in hopeless darkness?) and recovers like nothing happened for pretty much no reason; Rian's words weren't full of hope she just told him he is Garo just somehow the darkness new they would help but solidifying them backfired. Ryuga was a much better character in Yami o Terasu and they already did this same thing and his breakdown made sense. . The second breakdown needs more behind it (just like Attack on Titan with Eren) it doesn't make sense to have a hyper confident character lose it so easily at every revelation. So now darkened armor is okay for some reason. Having light inside(hope) and the darkness of your heart can be illuminated when face with the light of people who care. Maybe people thought Ryuga was a better Garo than Raiga so they just take all Garo traits from Ryuga to end the debate.
