the ending of course was a season finale one and not a series one. They didn't know the future of the show and they didn't want/plan/have time/ like any other show in the planet to create a series finale and give a proper ending.
Weird ending, looks like the makers were forced to end the series!! But then again what other ending was even possible i wonder!
What a stupid ending to an otherwise light and uplifting series.

Well, I guess I was wrong in my comment in the previous episode: I still have no idea if the show was renewed for another season or not, but this episode was clearly a series finale. Sure, they may still pick things up from here (obviously the monk-like kid leading Miles to some lady on a snowy mountain), but for what it's worth, this really felt like the end of the show.
Not the best episode when it comes to tearjerking power (yes, despite the whole thing with Ali), there have been far better emotional episodes. A rather lame, rushed and uninspired ending, but, if the show truly ended, it's better this way than to have ended with a cliffhanger or no proper ending at all. And, ending this way, God Friended Me (I can't believe how ridiculous the title still sounds after all this time) never gave us what it purposed to answer since the get-go: who's behind the God account. And I actually like that.
Oh, OK, then: https://deadline.com/2020/04/god-friended-me-canceled-end-after-two-seasons-cbs-series-finale-date-set-1202908162/
It may not have been the best show around, but it was an original and refreshing concept... And that kind of show is often prone to bite the dust. Godspeed, God Friended Me!
