Today in America one of the fastest growing groups are those labeled as the nonbelievers; the freethinkers, skeptics, agnostics and atheists. But what makes these people different from the rest of America? "Godless" provides a look at the faces of the nonreligious and gives answers to questions we have all had but did not know an atheist to ask.

Our look at the subculture of the godless starts in a group therapy session for people “recovering from religion” where attendees range from those traumatized by their religious upbringing to others who felt traumatized by discovering they could no longer believe in a supernatural god. From there, we join the celebrations for a non-religious Hanukah and a Christmas without Christ and attend openly atheist “churches” – whose congregations don’t recognize a god but do hold services, Sunday schools and even summer camps. Are there leaders of these non-believers? Do big-name new atheists like Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens and Daniel Dennett offer doctrine? And are these faithless indoctrinating their children into Atheism?

In the second installment, we look at more from the new atheists known as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens and Daniel Dennett) plus grass roots campaigns including everything from comedy acts and de-baptisms to more serious bus campaigns. Are atheists spreading the word or just preaching to the converted? We also hear from atheists who have faced discrimination and even death threats as a consequence of their non-belief and explore why they’d want to ‘come out’ as atheists.
