I like this show. At first I was on the fence because "another Gold Rush", but I like the other iterations of the show so I stuck with it and I'm glad I did, this and Dave Turrin's Lost Mine are both the better in the series.
These folks work their butt off to get gold in a raging creek bed, and it's highly dangerous stuff. I understand some folks might not like this type of show, but I find it entertaining to live vicariously through others that do this kind of thing. I do a lot of diving but wouldn't be diving for 5+ hours in a raging creek to find some specks of gold, but I enjoy watching others do it.
One thing that IS super frustrating is Disney deciding to stop airing these in the middle of the season until late April (this is currently January 2023) because of some BS about wanting to impact their tax payout. Gold Rush is still one of their highest rated shows (in all its iterations), so you would think they would ditch some of the other stupid junk on Discovery before their top shows.
