Ugh I have to say I’m not impressed. This feels ridiculous. And while Dan has this great opportunity, Blair’s off supporting Chuck...not terrible but to lie about it is stupid. The scheming was ridiculous and Serena continues to show how unintelligent she is.
I wish the writers had injected some aspects in which the characters grow. None of them apparently go to school anymore so why not do something like have Serena watch a movie she gets hooked on and then goes and reads up as much about the topic as possible. Like how Blair does with her idols. She reads. Serena may be an It girl and cares for her friends but there’s nothing to her.
Nate seems to have no depth anymore. He has no hobbies just like almost every other character on the show. And he’s only about work and women. It’s getting boring.
Chuck and Blair is an emotionally abusive pairing and while he’s getting therapy that doesn’t mean they should be together. They’re bad for each other.
I like that Dan has the storyline about his writing but the writers clearly forgot about all that wit and banter they had in earlier seasons. This episode feels different too, like the writers did a 180 with the Dan and Blair relationship. They made it awkward.
Many of these ‘obstacles’ people have on the show are ridiculous. And aside for the drama they create for themselves nothing ever seems to happen to some of the characters. It would be nice if we saw more realistic struggles. Like: selling the Waldorfs apartment when they were worried about repaying the dowry. Then B and S would have to find a place to live and budget... it could have been a couple fun episodes before it was all fixed.

Anyways, I feel the writers were losing steam.
