That ending shooting.... Not a single hit. Really ?
I hope Sofia remains in the the series.
Interesting developments with Lee and Ed, not sure what to make of Barbara, Tabitha, and Selena -- they seem a bit like they just haven't realized how confused they are -- but one disappointment kinda sticks out...
I've been somewhat fascinated Sophia's obviously complex and layered manipulations, wondering where she was going with it all, how honest she was being with Jim about her goals, etc. And now... Soooo, all that complex machinistic planning by Sophia, all of it depended on her ability to maneuver Jim into a state and position from which she could nudge him into simply (and very un-Jim-ly) rallying the GCPD like any other mob boss to go to war with Penguin? Whaaaaa.... Feels like a bit of a let-down after all that that storyline's gradual build.
Well, that, and... Did Sophia and the ladies really think that Oswald would really just hand over his empire like that, given that they held back nothing to hold over his head if he went back on any agreement? They've all been much smarter than that in the past... what happened here? Writer's Stroke?
And what's with the perennial stupidity of guards at Arkham? Is there some kind of intelligence-and-common-sense test on which one has to score sufficiently low to become an Arkham guard, or is that just where the GCPD assigns its dumbest and most expendable?
C'mon, o writers and directors of Gotham. You can plot so much better than this...
It's a flawed episode...but i can't help but think it was great, due to all that was happening. Genius escape from being tortured, but i felt it got a bit disappointing after that for a little bit. But it was still a good/great episode and loads of good bits. Ok so instead of leaving it at that i'll go more in-depth. So the sofia character. I have always liked the character and actress. The character for the most part though i thought her and gordon parts were a bit forced, and how she was a bit forward. Yet i kinda ship them, and didn't like how gordon was negative towards that. Yet remember that time was it last episode he came back for some action, yeah you did. He's kinda right and it wouldn't work, like think future and she's the head of crime in the city and he's the police captain. But i kinda like how they're opposites and it'd be good to see that ship. But no, the writers bow to convention and he's waiting for either barbara or lee, probably lee, ugh. Sofia also should have been more clever after escaping the torture, like i expected more from her. And penguin killing the kid was a shocking moment, i kinda loved it. So it felt a bit cheap that he survived, but i didn't mind that much. Plus, penguin didn't kill a kid. In the showdown, i loved how i wanted both parties to win. I liked both parties and wanted oth parties to win, i freaking love that. Penguin is one of the best characters in the whole show and always has been, and often i feel sympthy for him, even though eh straight up murders people all the time and is a terrible person really and crime lord. Yet i also wanted sofia to win because i like her and tabitha and selina. Lee was nicer this episode. I'm slowly slowly warming to her again, like in that first season she was in, god she was so likeable then. Barbara wasn't as annoying really.
Ed nigma, i liked him this episode. He's a great character on the show, mabye one of my favorites, and his devlopment over the seasons has been great. I kinda really liked that scene, that moment where nigma might actually become a bit of a good guy. God i might love that, and then the writers would also be breaking hugely with convention which i would freakingly love in certain circumstances but basically you can bet money that they won't!. It was also nice to see the riddler kinda come back in the end in that scene with the mirror, i liked it. I liked both that and the other possibility that nigma might change and become a bit good.
Agree with the other person, hope the spoiled brat bruce gets drop quickly. Also, about the professor pym is that guy...his true persona. So what?. It didn't really add any importance or intrigue whatsoever, at least att he moment.
Also yeah, that standoff, didn't really make a lot of sense or work at all. Even though i liked the routing for both sides, logically it didn't really work. And agree with the other person the plan with the whole trying to get jim to use the gcpd didn't really work at all either. Yeah i think i'm going to change my rating to 7.
So over this version of Bruce. Hopefully Jerome shows up soon in full Joker get up and kills Bruce's so called friends.
Well, against what seems to be the tone of the other comments here, I think this was the best episode of the season. So far, at least. They sort of ruined the Sofia character in this episode, so I guess that means they're preparing her goodbye, but at least Lee and the three female stooges are getting more interesting as each episode passes by. Speaking of ruining characters, thank Heavens we didn't get any spoiled brat Bruce in this episode. I really hope they'll wrap up that attitude before the season ends, it's so annoying and frustrating having to watch a young Bruce Wayne acting like that.
Also, villains seem to have stopped raping the GCPD HQ, for now, which is refreshing.

This Arkham Asylum is so bad.
