Show rarely dipped above good, even with Nicole Ritchie, Adam Campbell and John Michael doing the heavy lifting. Writing was abysmal at times (see: "I read it in a book, wait, I don't read" or "I'll buy you something, wait, I don't have a bank account" and the Carol character was ridiculous. What made it worse was the writing of Katie dipped further and further by Season 2 that she became as bad as Carol.

There is a version of this concept that works. Maybe Carol leaves Dave (another joke that never went anywhere nor paid off) and seeing her daughter as a strong smart independent women, decides to pursue her dream she gave up 30 years ago. Suddenly Katie is locked in a spirited rivarly with her mother, while the lead news anchor (who is feeling like a dinosaur) begins to pursue Carol, despite her not being interested. Lastly, I don't think the Justin character, always the butt of every joke, ever got his shining moment.

A really forgettable series.

Cute ending for a cute show! I loved the little UKS nods, and Nicole Richie was the breakout star for me! I could’ve watched a couple more seasons!
