Hello Tomorrow! 2023

[tv+] A story of lunar real estate sellers that has a curious retro-futuristic staging that offers entertainment in the details that, however, cannot be found in the characters and the dialogues. The unique approach hides a traditional story about family, abandonment and the broken relationship between parents and children. And although in the last episodes, when it focuses more on fraud, it manages to have more interest, in the end it seems that we have wasted too much time on subplots that lead nowhere.

This show is Mad Men set in a Black Mirror universe.

I guess it's getting low rating from people that need the conceit revealed within the first couple of episodes. I like that we're being led along and not allowed to see the whole board. There's a chance that it could end in disappointment, but I'm willing to give it a chance. I can enjoy the Rocket-age aesthetic in the mean time.

Don't know what folk are complaining about,if you like weird strange shows then give it a watch.

Looked very promising, but after 3 episodes we're done. Got much more exciting things to do like watching paint dry.

:heart:x7
I found the first half of the season to be quite frustrating and a little boring. Frustrating because I really didn't want to watch a con-man lieing to people and bilking them out of everything they have.
On the other hand, this is a cool mix of 1950 meets the Jetsons.

The second half of the season was a bit more interesting as everything started coming to a head. And then it happened. Season one ended just as I needed to know what happens next.

How I rate:
1-3 v = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

I love retro-futurism so it makes sense that I really enjoyed this. It also features some of my favorites; Billy Crudup, Hank Azaria, and Allison Pill so how wrong could it go?

It's wasn't what I was expecting but once I got over that what ever that was it turned out to be a pleasantly weird show.

Started off strong, charming characters and an amazing aesthetic to get lost into, but sadly the plot didn't hold up through the rest of the season. Perhaps a matter of overstretching into 10 episodes with not enough substance to maintain you hooked.

WHY? WHY? WHYYYYY? Did you have to destroy such a good idea. After the episode of the revelation of the "moontrips" the show deflated completely. I fast forwarded the final episodes skipping 5,6 and 7 entirely. What a waste of cast and potential.

6.1/10 is way underrated. The story is brilliant; production, as other Apple releases, perfect. So is acting by Billy Crudup and others. The only thing I can complain about is the story feeling a bit too much based on coincidence here and there and too little about the characters actual actions and decisions.

So wanted to like this show, with the cool retro futuristic look. But this show is fucking depressing when that future and most everything on the show is a lie.

Beautiful and well-acted but the story and writing are dull as dishwater

Had low expectations for this show and it turned out to be a little better than I was expecting. It's basically alternative retro-futuristic universe and with a bunch of really oblivious and goofy people. A group of sales people who are selling real estate to the moon. But things are not all exactly what they seem. A lot of things didn't really make sense but it turned out to be what made this show interesting. Kinda reminded me of that futuristic horror/fantasy show Big Bug. The show ended on a cliff hanger which was pretty anti-climatic. But the ending suggests there will be a second season and I'll definitely be checking it out.

The plot of the show is just not good enough for a whole season. If the show would not be in a Fallout-like setting, I guess the rating of the show would be even lower than it already is. The set design of the show is fantastic, but the story sadly isn't. They should keep the set and make a complete different show, because I think the setting in a Fallout-like show is so promising.
