Great docuseries!! It highlights different aspects of tackling the illegal immigration in the US. However, it doesn’t tackle it from the other side; other countries’ role in helping to contain this problem.
It’s literally political issue in the form of a “country defense” entry in the Trump’s administration age!
Asking people to do it “the right way” legally yet when they announce they are asking for asylum in any port of entry then they are to be locked in immigration centers/shelters which they claim is different from being detained in a jail!! When some of these folks have been separated from their families by authorities and some they never have their files opened, looked at, and processed; making these folks waiting for unkown time some for 5 years and up!!
If anything, this is inhumane, which will be apparent to the viewer in the last two episode especially the last one i watched w/ teary eyes!
Why can’t the authorities & decision makers who claim their approach is the only way to compact illegal immigration make it legal by not separating these folks from their families and put in centers for years for the majority; why can’t you make it legal and humane as the Dr. of forensics in the last episode said: put them in lines and start a VETTING process why not involve the other countries in it sharing a database of these folks to have a look at their background so you can separate the drug dealers/cartels from those escaping them and looking for a future and a life where they thought is a safe haven to them instead of what’s actually going right now: 1) w/ deaths rates went from hundreds to thousands in a matter of six years in Arizona alone; where 2) the country is actually wasting tax payers money on ways/tools/personnel to compact the problem the budget went from millions to 4.3 billion US dollars!
Why not detain those undocumented felons w/ criminal backgrounds as it was in previous administrations and appreciate those undocumented veterans & workers (who btw got their salary stolen and given none by the “tax payer/obedient US citizens(e.g. Panama City, FL’s commissioner” for all they care about their own benefit and no one else as if these workers/undocumented veterans have no families?! They SERVED THE COUNTRY!! No one in their right state of mind can fathom this! Absolutely inhumane....it just saddens me how this issue became more of a political agenda where people get voters’ votes! Absolutely hideous, inhumane, and a selfish thing to do!
Their only fault is that they were born in countries where wars, gangs, molesters, and drug cartels reside in the same country making it impossible for those seeking normal life to live there w/ their families..that’s their only problem...but then, if the undocumented workers and veterans aren’t being recognized and acknowledged then, how are we expecting the authorities to do good by these immigrants whether they “did it the right way” yet still in these centers separated from there families, or do good by the illegal immigrants who got forced and had no option but to do it this way as a result of how legal immigration process is taking place and how this whole issue is being tackled
