“The Island of the Doomed” was called by the old-timers their own area, lost among marshes, rivers and lakes somewhere in the north-west of Russia. Time seems to have stopped here. The local population is accustomed to believing in superstition and legends, so a real commotion begins among all the inhabitants, when one morning, fishermen discover a girl’s body on the shore in 16th-century clothing.
To solve the crime, two detectives from different departments come from Moscow - Interior Ministry official Maxim Peshkov (Konstantin Solovyov) and FSB Major Sergei Trubetskoy (Dmitry Pchela). The village police officer, Major Prokhin (Oleg Taktarov) helps guests from the capital.
