iZombie

Season 1

Season 1 was excellent overall, although it took a little while to really click. Clearly using the Veronica Mars template to great effect, this is a witty and gripping show that works as both light entertainment and something you can get more invested in.

If it has any weakness, I would say that some of the casting is a bit off. Major is just a useless and uninteresting character, constantly trying to act the hero but coming off as pathetic, and his high school jock look doesn't help. Meanwhile, Babinaux is still a completely blank slate by the end of the season and his character needs a lot of development, or at least something to make us care about him.

Rose McIver carries the show really well, though, and makes up for a lot of this. She gets to apply different characteristics to her performance each week, which is no easy task, and while some of these do miss the mark and fall into pantomime territory, for the most part she is an absolute gem.

Hope to see more Veronica Mars cast appear in season 2!

A spontaneous choice and a pleasant surprise, I had this on my Watchlist because of David Anders- who does not disappoint - but made me stay for two of my favourite characters in the show : Liv and Ravi.

This show is a binge-worthy delight.

A nice idea with the zombie ME, there is definitely potential there. Some of the episodes of this first season are quite good and intriguing. Others no more than mediocre.

However, the show has some of that same artificial feeling to it that is constantly present in Arrow: most the actors / actresses look like models instead of police officers and MEs, social workers and gang members or doctors and xyz. I find this quite annoying. Hopefully they tone that down in future seasons!

I checked this show out on Netflix when I saw that Robert Buckley was in it. Then I found out it was developed by Rob Thomas, included David Anders, and even had Bradley James in a reoccurring role! Coupled with the fact that you with guest stars from Veronica Mars (Dick! Wallace!! That other detective guy!), and this show is definitely worth a binge.

I was pleasantly surprised by this show. Not knowing the comics at all, I had now idea what to expect. And after the first few episodes I thought it was going to be just another "murder of the day" type series, except with the whole brain-eating-giving-visions. It turned out to be really excellent with a well thought out and often surprising over arching plot. Can't wait for S2

I'm surprised - this was much better than I expected (but I aren't familiar with the comics). At times, it felt a bit like Joe-90, but it's certainly worth investigating...
