Man im realy liking Chika's character, with him being so passionate about the koto, truely undertsanding the beauty of the instruement, after his grandfather introduced him to it. And even now, Chika is still mired in guilt and regret for the accident at his grandfather's workshop, blaming himself for the koto instruements being damaged, and now blaming himself for the koto accidnet at the school club, with Chika wanting to do everything he can to make upm for that moment, understand and earn the right to play the koto. Man Chika is someone who ou just want to root for, and learning how to "earn his right" hes now practing the koto at some koto-crafter's workshop, in hopes to win her approval just meakes me like Chika way more. Also, I'm likign this new Satowa Houzuki character, of the famous koto Houzoki family, its clear there's familial drama between Satowa and her mother to the point that Satowa has left her Houzuki family to join a school koto club, I hoep that gets explored more. Also, man Satowa is a skilled player, I know that shes this famous regional koto champ, but hearing her play the koto was so captivating, and I'm glad the koto club has someon like her whose driven to win nationals. Also, man I feel bad for Kurata, he's clearly mired in self-doubt about his koto skills, beleieving that even dreaming for nationals is out of the question, let alone winning it. I really hope that Kurata gets more confident in himself and starts dreaming big, instead of being blinded by his past failures. Also, im enjoying the character dynamics, with Satowa not relaly knowing how to be apart of a team, at first thinking she'll just single handledly lead everyone through nationals as someone who was only a solo performer, but now she's lowly understanding what it means to be a team, how it takes everyone workign together to succeed. Also, its nice having more people like her, who are confident theyll win nationals, bringign the mood of the team up and pushing ppl like Kurata to dream bigger and work harder for those dreams, rather then settling for smaller goals. Also, im liking Satowa and Chika's relationship, with Satowa at frist just dismissing him as another deliquent who doesnt respect the koto, thinking someone like him who'll damage the koto doesnt deserve the right to play it, though now it seems like she understands, even if she wont admit it, that Chika truely cares about the koto, and its looking like she's now accepting Chika as a koto club member.
Decent slice of life anime about an obscure instrument. Can't say I'm rushing to watch it, but the character dynamics are there, and they've shown some teases to great animation during the playing sequences. Will keep on the burner during slower weeks.
