On one hand, it's a neat bit of continuity to have the Gregory Searle character appear again after 8 seasons. But on the other hand... why? He didn't contribute anything to the episode, other than "hey this guy's here." He wasn't involved in the case at hand, nor did he provide information or anything of the like.
