The ending was not bas i just felt like there was more story to be told and also i hated that she did not end with anyone of them.
Overall a sweet ending though it was predictable.
This series is disappointing. When they advertised, it seemed like Stella was finding herself - I was hoping that’s what the series would focus on while she healed. She may have been ‘cured’ but how does she know that for sure?
When my sister was ‘cured’ of her cancer both times it wasn’t magic. There were follow up appointments for the first few months. Then every 6 mo she had to meet with an oncologist for more tests, to make sure it didn’t come back. After 5 yrs they did appointments once a year (on top of her annual GP appointment). She occasionally had tests with a specialist to make sure the chemo and radiation didn’t destroy her eyes.
Then now in her late 30’s because of all the treatments she now has osteoporosis (though thankfully it’s mild and causes her no pain).
My point is, this show paid absolutely zero attention to real life.
I had hoped there would be an episode where Stella has a follow up and completely freaks out at what could be found. Or her wanting to go dancing or something and her energy level is zero.
Stella has zero mood swings (which is a side effect of many drugs they put survivors on). Prednisone is a common drug to help improve immune system but it causes massive weight gain. And no immune system mean you should have little contact with people... this show acts like everything is magically better.
In real life Stella would have mood swings whether it was from the drugs or frustration. Even Sadie barely has mood swings and she’s a teenager stuck in bed, bored out of her mind.
Why didn’t they have an episode of Stella and Sadie exploring creepy parts of the hospital together? Like really explore it - find the morgue, have an emotional breakdown...find a bizarre storage room and make it like their treehouse or something. Have fun and Stella could discover a gift for decorating or something.
For this type of show I had hoped they would focus on the small things for her while she recovers. She has energy to read without falls my asleep since she’s not doped up- she finds a new favourite book. Or she makes another friend at the hospital when she’s there for an appointment. A friend that teaches her something like how to crochet, yoga, or something - it could be something she discovers she loves.
You know, finding herself while not ignoring her past.
This show constantly talks about her marriage it’s so boring! Seriously, ‘we have to make this work’ yeah ok we heard you a hundred times already. So DO something! Go on a date or two. Take a cooking class together. Play strip-Monopoly at home...
If Stella had real setbacks we could see Wes truly taking care of her. He’d discover something about himself in the process. The family would grow closer with him. And then, yes if Wes and Stella split then I could see him still part of the family.
Stella still never got time to discover herself. Her mother, father, sister, and brother did...but not Stella. Not even a little focus on Stella outside of her ridiculous plot of the men in her life? Why do shows do this? Yes you can be with one person and attracted to another. It doesn’t mean anything and doesn’t destroy relationships - that’s up to the person.
Don’t even get me started how people who have been terrorized by the harsh chemotherapy and radiation treatments feel about being touched. Some it hurts and makes them uncomfortable. Others they just feel tired - so running off to look for romance and be okay with being touched and somehow magically snapping back with a perfect libido? Don’t think so.
And a few women I know who had cancer all say the same thing - sex hurt for a little while as their bodies healed. It’s not sunshine and roses.
The show just talks and talk. Clearly the creators and writers just wanted a fluff show. I watched hoping they would explore life how many people are forced to live it but they didn’t.
Even if they wanted a glamorized version of this, why not focus on Stella as a person instead of everyone else the majority of the series? Why so much time spent on the Doc and Wes’ ex? It was so boring.
The actors are good, I’ve seen some of them in other projects (Dylan Walsh and Lucy Hale) and they’re great...but the show is not. I’m not surprised it was cancelled.
So many wasted opportunities.

I do understand the reasoning behind everything in this episode.
But considering the original premise, this show wasted every potential and made a rather ordinary family-relationship-drama out of it without caring much for the premise. Deep philosophical questions were attempted but were for me always falling flat because of the circumstances. This could have been a really gritty, dark humour comedy but the show went the shallow route instead.
Wasn't too bad, but not too good either. Clearly it wasn't using its full potential.
Anyway, a likable cast but the cancellation was somewhat to be expected.
