This year we are blessed with some visually good drama but lacking good plot .
Lovers of the Red Sky fall into the category (as Doom and gumiho) .
It starts well with Ha-Ram ; for a change male lead has good spy network and more than intelligent to keep his enemies in back-foot under his palm, slowly as rekindles his relationship with Cheongi he becomes passive and his brain freeze so makes insensible decision and story goes nowhere ; the usual rut of the Seaguks surfaces
Kim You-Jung as Cheongi was wonderful as usual she brings her positive charm to the show and balances the morbid revenge driven Ha-Ram . My only regret she yet again finds herself into an ordinary plot although no controversy ; like Backstreet rookie ; this time. Hope she chooses a better script or famous director next time.
The other princes and king are usually one-dimensional and boring with no character development. The Baeksung artists bring out some comedy and the finale was delightful ; except for last 2 minutes .
Overall this was a passable watch ; as I have binged through first 8 episodes I found it more interesting than watching it weekly (I was not waiting for new episodes).
Beautiful drama, satisfying ending. I recommend watching it
I love both Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim You Jung, and they were magnificent in this, but there was nowhere near enough plot to drag the show out for 16 episodes. Not even the cast is all that big, just a handful of people, quite unusual for saeguks. So it was a lot of seeing all the same faces, repeating all the same actions a bunch of times.
It was basically the same thing happening over and over again, and it grew old and boring very quickly. I wish they would have kept it to a shorter run time. It's a shame, really.

the middle part was very boring, but I'm glad i watch through the end.
i was rooting for Gong Myung to get the female lead at first but it's ok
I'm in love with hyo-seop ( ω )
