Well well well. Welcome, Eve, Lucifer's first love. This ought to be fun.

Also that scene at Lucifer's apartment might be the best acting Lauren German's ever done on this show. Don't get me wrong, I think she's a mighty fine actress and I've always liked her portrayal of Chloe but I don't think we've ever seen that level of emotional rawness from her before. "You are the actual devil. (...) And how am I, Chloe Decker, a nobody, supposed to deal with that?" Really good stuff.

I need my esoteric, elusive, mystical Chloe, not this shadow of a purpose that was trampled on. Her Brennan Bones persona was disquieting--- instead of Bones, I think she should be more Buffy or Echo. (Dollhouse)

Lucifer had tunnel-vision- but that's not new behavior so I'm not yet docking any points for it.

Maze needs to find compassion in her own way because Linda can't do it for her.

Chloe's voice sounded raw as the Portishead song came on. Also a nice touch was Creep by Radiohead in episode one. But how about Tori Amos doing a Nirvana cover?

Amenediel was running around unable to help, all obsessed with his baby momma, not even really thinking about Lucifer or Decker or Maze or Dan. I'd expect more prayer from angels.

I still wish there was a bit more Dominion and little less Castle in this show.

Well, I'm glad this episode fixed the mess that was introduced in the previous one. Chloe is back on character, back to her lucid, regular self and it makes more sense that Father Kinley is a twisted, obsessed priest who manipulates those around him to get to Lucifer. The conversation between Chloe and Lucifer by the end of the episode was one of the finest moments of this show, definitely contributing to put things back in order. I still find the inclusion of the Church in this show to be rather cheesy and somewhat inane (considering now the show has been developing without it), but maybe they're just copying the source material (i.e., the comics). If that's the case, then I'm definitely curious to see where they're going with this. Maybe they'll be cranking the supernatural part of this show up to eleven, leaving the procedural side of things in the background. Not sure if I'm cool with that (because it implies a significant change in this show's style), but it all depends on how will they handle things from now on.

My emotions! Goddamn it, show! At the end of last season Deckerstar seemed like a done deal and now? What is this?
At least we know that that supposed trap wouldn't actually hold Lucifer for long considering literally the only thing we know with absolute certainty about God's will is that he put Chloe in Lucifer's path and she is, well, on Earth. So unless "Dear Old Dad" wants Lucifer back in Hell, even a trap strong enough to hold the Devil would be worth nothing if God wants him on Earth.
