OK 3 season now. I just don't get it why such a show gets 3 season and so many good ones get canceled after 1.
How did this crap got a 2nd season when good series are being canceled is beyond me. In the 1st episode they just took everything MacGyver stood for and burned it while pissing on the flames. Mac abhorred violence and would never kill. That was a nice distonction from any other action series. This imposter... just sucks. Avoid it like the plague because no one will give you back the time you waste watching this steaming pile of poo.
Just awful. That is all.
I wanted to like this reboot so badly but you can hate just everything about it. Starting by everything reminding you of a "CSI: xyz" set from actors (Eads is really shallow as usually) to overlays to camera settings, saturation aand such. Mac is arrogant and seems to spend more time on his hair than on his MacGyverisms (They've been quite dull so far. Honestly, you simply can not bundle sunlight with a binocular lens over 100m to ignite a weapon crate . And all characters are shallow and predictable. Don't get me wrong bot "of course" he had to have a person of color as his beste mate and we also needed a Latino co-star and a female in a leading position. I'm surprised they didn't make it Angie MacGyver. I wouldn't care it all if that would be compensated by good writing but nada. It's true, the originals also had shallow espionage episodes but in 2016 you'll have to come up with something better than in-/exfiltration in Caracas or North Korea (sure thing this wouldn't trigger diplomatic consequences.) As somebody else pointed out here: It's the worst show to come out in quite some time and I would be surprised and deeply offended if it was renewed.
Typical American show. The writers create a world-wide problem to be solved by Americans. Whether or not the problem actually starts in the USA doesn't matter, because Americans always save the day.
I tried to give it a shot, but this show is just terrible. The writing is awful and this new Mac is not good.
The brainy things MacGyver does to get out of sticky situations, well they are things that aren't too special. Like mixing alcohol and fire or knowing a paper clip can unlock handcuffs.
This MacGyver doesn't do anything too special. Michael in Burn Notice was more MacGyver like.
Plenty of Easter Eggs in the new MacGyver. I spotted a little bit of this, a little bit of that.
Even the opening theme song makes a neat throwback to it.
I didn't like it as I liked the original series
The authors thought they had to recycle the characters of the original series.
So Mac's nephew (or another kind of relative) works in his original MacGyver's old working place and anybody there has the name of one of Mac's old mates and colleagues? Sure...
I'm absolutely fine with a female boss, but DON'T call her Patricia Thornton! That's just silly. And calling an Ex-Marine Jack Dalton is even more silly.
The characters themselves are... ok. But "Team MacGyver" doesn't work out just like "Team Knight Rider" didn't.
Besides that, I sometimes have the feeling the new Mac just ocssionally builds stuff so you may call him Mac.

This is perhaps the worst show I've seen in a long while.
Sad this was cancelled, it could have gone further and it could have been way better. It seems wide open for someone else to pick it up.
I'm not a fan of the Russ Taylor character; they could have done without him and way too much Desi....
Love the humour, love the action and the great Mac-style resolutions to problems

I hope they kill off another character to give us reprieve from constant boredom. I'm rooting for Desi. Or Mac.
Tried the first two episodes. Written by young teenagers (or a really unintelligent adult) for teenagers. I'm dropping this show.

So many promising tv shows get axed after just one season ('series' if in the UK!) yet this piece of rubbish is renewed every year. The storyline is bad, the acting is cheap and MacGyver himself isn't worthy of comment.
I'm so completely happy they've revived MacGyver again! It's so good. Maybe even better now that the first reboot. Great cast, amazing dynamic. Miss George Eads as Jack Dalton though (never forget Jack!).

I never saw the original so I can enjoy this show whitout comparing it to the source (wich was, apparently, judging by the comments, a masterpiece). I enjoyed the show til now.

The show is ok. Unfortunately, you can't go in to it expecting the RDA version of the show as its not that at all.
This is more in line with a lot of the newer shows.
Some of the situations and rewrites of the characters are a bit much, but its an ok Friday night watch when you just want to veg...

Why keep people stick in the past!!! This is a new serie, A remake, not a copie of the old one. I liked the old one. But the new is fun to watch. I don't think that the new generation has seen the old series so fot them it makes no diverence

I don't know what you haters were specting of MacGyver, this Is MacGyver! i don't see him not humble, but if that were the case, he is suppouse to be a Younger version of the original characters, so, yep, he can be "not humble". Character repartition? wait, aren't you in the US like used to this politically correct cast? so what's the big deal? they really make a good team. The show is starting, and spionage is not what it used to be to all of us that lived through some or much of the cold war, but This is what Mac Gyver is and does!

I didn't watch the original MacGyver; I might caught a glimpse of a number of re-runs but if that is how MacGyver behaved , how did he become a beloved character

Watching the show. Mac was always humble but the new Mac is arrogant. Ruined it.
