I enjoyed this season. I think this is not gonna be one of my favs but it's good enough to keep me watching 'till the end.

For a while, I was intrigued by the show’s environment and the characters in this Randian, elitist lifestyle. However, the season’s depiction of themes——such as adultery and office competition——become rudimentary and trivial. By the time the season concludes, it is difficult to care about this story when the writer keeps hitting the same note repeatedly. I must admit this will probably not be a problem for some viewers, but I am willing to watch the second season to see if it improves.
Set in the 1960s in a New York advertising agency about the enigmatic Donald Draper and other interesting characters. I enjoyed the fabulous sets and costumes though I felt appalled at some of the behavior in what was a very different social landscape. Must continue with the series though because the storyline is full of intrigue.

I love Mad Men and this first season is a great taste at what's to come. It does a good job at introducing Don's background (which I will admit isn't always my favorite part of the series), and it is interesting to see the beginnings of so many fantastic characters like Peggy. I can't wait to catch up on the rest of the seasons.
Stand-out episodes include: Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Babylon, Shoot, Nixon vs. Kennedy and The Wheel.
