Manifest: Season 2

2x07 Emergency Exit

My first thought when finding a fire extinguisher in a burning building is to use it to actually extinguish some of the fire, but not Michaela, she'll use it to break a lock, then throw it away. WTF! Olive tripping while trying to leave the club was cheesy as fuck, too.

I didn’t feel as if TJ really died. He might have but I also wouldn’t be surprised if we see him again. Jared has been less annoying even if he may or may not be in a hate group.

And I thought the acting on this show was bad...talk about terribly predictable writing. Yeah it was nice to have an action episode, but at what cost? Nothing about the episode felt the least bit natural, in the character's actions, intentions or dialogue. The staged nature of the narrative continuously took me out of the moment and I wished the doors had remained locked so my obligation to tune in next week was gone.

I feel like this episode is a turning point for the season and things will hopefully start picking up after this. I thought it was a solid episode where we can squash Olive acting like a brat over her cult, Michaela is onto Jared, Sanvi continues to go off the deep end, and something interesting happens with Ben. I'm sure what will happen next with Zeke. I really liked the turn of events and I really hope the two people we know were still in the club did not die.

Yes! The show is getting somewhere, finally. While the season up to this point has been enjoyable, this episode was starting to become desperately needed. Less drama, more plot. I hope these new occurrences signifies that there will be more focus on the plot rather than the drama from here on out. New revealing moments, things that happen, phenomena, whatever you want to call it that lead to more questions give more to work with, getting rid of the necessity to have mostly drama that serves no purpose other than to have material for people to watch, episode by episode. But one shouldn't go overboard with adding more to the plot as that, too, can become a problem, just like having more drama than plot. That being said, I hope the bright light, that first appeared, to Cal, that has now appeared to Ben, the illustration in Yusuv Al-Zuras' journal that corresponded with Ben carrying Olive out of the burning building, and the journal itself glowing with the same bright light will make way for more plot focus in future episodes.

Poor TJ, man. He deserved better than that. See what happens with cults, Olive? They always end up killing people.

Given Saanvi's whole thing with Ben (or are we gonna pretend that never happened?), I always though Alex was a dude (and I feel like that was the case during season one). However I wasn't all that surprised to learn she's a woman.

And now Michaela is onto Jared. That's gonna be interesting!

Such a white privilege thing to be able to talk to your parents like that time and time again with no consequences

Now we know why Ben and the Doc didn’t hook up. Although she could be Bi

And there it is, the token gay scene...I guess NBC can check that off their list.

Why would the doc wish to get rid of the calling. It might be a pain sometimes but she should have not done that. Was the light in the book real or an hallucination?

DNF. 15 minutes in and I've finally had enough family drama crap. Relationship crap. Cult crap. Druggie loser crap. I have better uses for my time and it's time to dump this garbage. Again. And this time, I won't listen if someone tries to convince me that there's enough cool mystery stuff to make the rest of it worthwhile. Because I haven't seen much cool mystery stuff AT ALL this entire season.

Getting a tad too religious for me right now (meaning it gets a pro-religion vibe).

Other than that I really liked this Episode.

Ehh, this show is good, moderately good. I just don't see the hype but I'm in it now so I have to keep watching. Too many twist and turns and dramatic events in every episode.
