The final minutes were some of the most tense moments I've seen in television in recent years.

I know we're supposed to care about the kidnapped girls but Zabel! :crying_cat_face: For the next Halloween, I will be going as the piece of tortellini that he wanted. The last thing Zabel said to his mom before he left was, "I've always been careful, and look where it's gotten me." :weary:
I really thought the secret between Ryan and his dad was something a lot worse.
Those last 15 minutes were so insaaaane. :bomb: You could feel tension in both Mare and Zabel - the sweat, them having a hard time keeping the conversation going once they heard the pipe clinking. Brilliant acting and directing, so well done!
I don't like that the writers picked that random guy as the kidnapper.

This show keeps going from strength to strength, I really don't want it to end. The human element of this town the show has crafted, the sporadic smatterings of humour that somehow don't feel out of place, along with the acting of all involved and the pure tension of the final act; this is some of the finest television I've seen for a long long time. Can't wait to see where this goes and how it wraps up. Can't believe there's only 2 hours left!
Shows this good are rare. Such a treat to watch. Tension done so right. Lots of really convincing actors and just a great all round show!
Wow. Well that ending came as a surprise, didn't see that coming .. neither did Zabel! .. Not quite sure why it was necessary to kill him off. .. But that scene following the funeral wake, good bit of comic relief.
Be interesting to see where the final episodes go now!

Knew the priest wouldn't be the key and even this kidnapper seems unconnected to Erin's death. Suddenly the ex is back in the mix though and conspiring to burn her diaries wtf!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :((((((( WHYYYYYYYYY? I was under the impression this wasn't that type of show, noooooo, why are they doing this to me??? noooooo. I really wasn't expecting that and hmmm I'm not sure about that creative choice, those minutes were amazing incredible dramatic tense mindblowing (literally) but Zabel's ending seems too tragic for a show like this in the sense that this show is about living through the tragedy and living with that burden and now Zabel doesn't get to live through the tragedy and it's just a new thing to add to Mare's long list of tragedies. So I'm kinda biased because who would want Zabel to suffer but also is it me just being biased or was it a little too obvious and on the face (literally) And I can't stop thinking about his mom!!! OH GOD WHY WHY WHY.
I also felt bad about that old lady and even thought that her shady neighbour was involved somehow like in tampering her brakes or something but they said it was a heart attack.
And I guess we can say Erin's killer was someone else. Maybe her uncle?? It sure as hell seems like he's the father of her baby so at least he's guilty of that, And I'm mad Dylan got away with everything so easily, like just a surgery and that's it when he's a piece of sht! And same goes for Erin's friend!!!! Fck everyone!!
And I think I'm actually mad about Zabel cause I hate it when shows kill the one person that represents hope and that have a good heart and are optimistic and good, it's just such an obvious and lazy choice. I'm mad.
Masterpiece episode.
All the emotions built balanced between love and tragedy and Mare’s lack of emotions in any of them. Only natural for someone who has lost so much and is not allowed to win

Zabel deserved better.
Also, the writing got a lot worse and a hell of a lot predictable in terms of how the final two chapters will turn out.
That being said, Zabel deserved better.
