Marvel's Luke Cage

Season 2

I liked season one but this one was not good.Luke's dialogues were terrible. It was stretched too much and lot of episodes were only there to make it 13.I think it will be better if you just read the synopsis and skip some episodes if you want to watch it.The ending was not good either. There were some cameo of characters from other Marvel Netflix shows to. But overall this season does not meet the expectations and the hype.

Great season overall. Iron Fist shows up for comedic relief, being the worst superhero ever and being very pretentious about it, as usual :D. How better to destroy an indestructible man than from the inside? I can see season 3 being about Luke being corrupted slowly by his new position and flipping out at some point. Tilda seems to be poised for being a good antagonist too. Bushmaster still being around seems odd, I don't know what to think of him... Good things ahead, I guess. Let's hope they can keep it up

Luke Cage Season2 manages to handle multiple storylines gracefully but burdened with interminable 13 episodes with the first half trying to foist the idea of Heroes for Hire with some unconvincingly shifting alliances.Someone who liked season 1 will probably like this one too. The only fun episodes were the last four where plot seemed pacy in comparison to the preceding ones. The best episode was the one where Iron Fist shows up whose prime motive was to appease fans.

Like its first season, Luke Cage's sophomore effort starts off with tons of promise. The look, feel and style of the series remains ambitious and gritty. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes apparent that there is too little story stretched out over too many episodes. While the writers don't make the same mistake that they did in season 1 by splitting everything between two competing villains/arcs, what remains is S-L-O-W to develop. The endless talking and silly character turns feel like so much fluff, which detracts from the generally OK plot. The main cast is all gangbusters, with Alfre Woodard again standing out with her damaged, diabolical portrayal of Black Mariah, and Theo Rossi gets a special shout out for his deliciously complex, heartbreaking Shades. Unfortunately, the bright moments in each players' performances are lost in the muddle of filler scenes. Had this season been 6-8 episodes it would have been stellar. Instead, it was all but forgettable.

Close but slightly better than the first season.

Good: Same look and atmosphere. The music. Shades is still the best character.

Bad: Luke is still not a very interesting character, Mariah is still not an interesting villain, and both of their acting is still bad.
Still hard to find adversaries for Luke.
Shades is still underused.

Better: The other villain, Bushmaster is a little ridiculous in the beginning, but turns out pretty good. Not only as an antagonist or in fights with Luke, but as a fully built character. Except the flashback origin story, this part was totally butchered.
Some fun concepts, with Luke being a well known hero fully traceable via an app, or selling out in corporate parties for some cash.

The Iron Fist crossover is actually great. They really work well together, much better than individually.

The ending is a great concept for future episodes, even if it doesn't make any sense with the character, has not be prepared at all and fell like a conclusion that may have otherwise happened after a full season of change instead of instantly in the last five minutes.

This season has too many plot holes to overlook and the actress who played Tilda was dreadful - _ -

The writers and directors of this season is to uneven making this season fly all over the place, the story line feels more like a blurry S-curve than a straight line.

And which of the producers are Alfre Woodard related to? That has to be the explanation to how she landed this role cause it sure can't be because of her acting. Ruins every scene she's in.

Real villain of the season is %100 Luke Cage. He protect Stokes like 4 times and block Bushmaster to kill her on latest episodes with 0 REASON! Just don't watch it - really it's Fantastic 4 Reboot level shit! Luke has no motive - just walking around and doing some shit with no reason! 2 Stars for Danny and name cameos (Karen Page etc.)
