I'm sorry to say, I was not impressed with the first episode. So far, I interpret this show as, the studio trying obviously VERY hard to produce a show very close to #Venom.
I love me a good superhero show, but this is not it. It seems like I've been giving a lot of bad reviews lately, and I really hate it. But in my opinion, I think this script really sucked. Not every writer and actor, can pull of a duel personality. The hero of the show jumped into a body of a total wimp! It was really annoying to watch. It really felt like a hindrance to the show. Sorry. Respect to the fans, but I didn't think this show deserved a 7.6 IMDB rating.
This show just could've been so much more. The potential of the cast and plot was through the roof, but the action was so bad most of the show and I have more questions than answers by the end that it left me a little unsatisfied. Having said all that, I still liked it overall and it was a fun ride with standout performances from Ethan Hawke, Oscar Isaac, and May Calamawy!
It's the best start to a Marvel series, leaving interesting insights throughout its first episode and showing off one of arguably the best villains in the MCU.
I honestly think this should have been R rated series . But we will see how this plays out with PG-13 rating . I hope this does get gory to some extent to add flavour to the series .
Rather boring and well known formula. Maybe hire someone else as show runner and bring some fresh air.
Wow, this show is bad. CGI is shit, storytelling is meh at best.
load of sh:pound_symbol:t would not bother
This is going to be remembered as the tackiest high-budget show of the decade. Inexcusably poor direction and presentation, cheap action, comedy reduced to childish gags, and a generous dose of overacting as the sprinkles on top. The fact that they kept changing tone and plot direction with each episode surely didn’t help. I was hoping that it could at least satisfy my fetish for Egyptian mythology, but it was arguably worse than Relic Hunter.
While I really enjoyed the first few episodes and had high hopes for this series (especially after being mostly disappointed by the recent Marvel Series)....I felt they lost their way with the last 2 episodes....So my opinion of the series is 'totally underwhelmed by it at the end'. It didn't finish on a climactic conclusion or a suspenseful cliffhanger ....just flat. In fact after ep5 I was left wondering what was the point of it all...despite having enjoyed the beginning episodes. They seemed to have tried to over think it and a basically good plot and story ended up muddled for me. I'm not really looking forward to a season 2, but will probably still watch it just because it's Marvel lol
Ditch the fake accent , better yet ditch the Steven Grant character.
I loved the first episode! Can’t wait to see more, highly recommended if you like the Marvel univers
GIVE ME MORE!!! FAST! These things should be a 1 hour, double ep premiere
Great start, good casting so far. Another great show from Disney.
The next chapter in Marvel’s struggle of bringing the MCU formula to television.
It sounds simple enough in concept, as they’ve built their brand around making simple, unpretentious, linear, streamlined stories with good characters and big spectacle.
I think they consistently check the character box, television shows included, and this thing is no different. It helps a lot that they got Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, both of whom are phenomenal actors. They’re capable of adding so much life and colour to these characters, some of which probably isn’t even written on the page (could’ve done without the accent, though).
However, for as consistent as they are with nailing their characters, they’re becoming about as consistent with messing up in the story and spectacle department for these shows.
Marvel’s probably aware that they need to add some bells and whistles to their usual storytelling for a 6 hour miniseries, but so far the results have been mostly convoluted and messy (Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Loki). Moon Knight is no different, because despite some serious attempts at experimentation, most of it doesn’t pan out due to the schlocky execution.
As for the spectacle, yeah it’s pretty bad. Scale has nothing to do with how impressive an action sequence is, as even evidenced by even the best moments in the MCU (for my money, the absolute highlight is still the highway shootout in The Winter Soldier ). So, you really don’t need to do a crazy car chase with CGI trucks, trees, George Michael and a plethora of green screen if your show can’t afford it. You don’t need to attempt fancy mirror visuals I’ve seen in countless horror films if they’re too expensive. Scale it down, focus on the choreography and make sure everything looks good. Again, taking a page out of the Marvel Netflix book would work a lot better for this character. Furthermore, the Moon Knight suit has the exact same problem as the MCU Spider-man suits. It looks like animation, not a man in a suit.
Add the usual uninspired filmmaking, flat lighting (as well as underlit scenes, I might add), boring shot/reverse shot framing and general lack of colour/style, and I’m seeing nothing but another boring, by the numbers show. Its only appeal are the two main actors, both of whom are way too good for this and deserve a lot better.
Oscar Isaac is working overtime to hold up a show that sadly ends up drowning in its own potential. Could definitely have benefited from being a few episodes longer.
Easily the worst MCU series to date. A terrible mess where you really need to be familiar with the comics to understand it all. I wasn't so I had to search for it to understand it and it just made the whole annoying experience worse.
I have enjoyed most of the film and TV shows released by Marvel. So it was very disappointing that I have fallen asleep through most of this series.
Apart from the pilot episode, I have without fail fallen asleep through episode 2-4. I even tried watching episode 4 & 5 back to back but I could not as I nodded off towards the end of episode 4.
I loved the look of the show. I look forward to the mythology and Indiana Jones style adventures. Unfortunately, the choice of portraying communicating with the different personalities through reflective surfaces did not work for me. I could not feel any connections or empathy for these other personalities.
Truly amazing. Marvel is doing really great job so far.
I really like this show! It's a really good portrayal of dissociative identity disorder, and the superhero aspect ties in Egyptian mythology which is really interesting. I highly reccomend it if you are interested in psychology and/or mytholgy. Also, the visual effects are stunning!
3 Thoughts After Completing ‘Moon Knight’:
Moon Knight needed a helluva lot more Moon Knight.
I was surprised to find how difficult this series was to get through. With only six episodes, I thought I’d fly through it — but that wasn’t the case. I was never truly captivated and drawn in by the story, which I found to be somewhat scattered and fairly uneven.
The show’s greatest strengths were the Egypt setting (it felt very fresh for the MCU) and Oscar Isaac, who is absolutely phenomenal. There were some strong and unique moments here and there.
[AFTER SEASON 1]
The story is okay and I like the Egypt-setting, but my big takeaway is the acting of Oscar Isaac, which is absolutely bonkers. The way he changes between characters mid-scene is something that I haven't seen before. You can see which personality has the upper hand without him speaking at times. It's simply amazing and I would argue that it's some of the best acting in the MCU. Also, i like the attention that mental problems due to childhood trauma are getting in this. Even though we see a lot of gods and stuff, it feels more real because that human pain is relatable. I want a season 2!
I’m a little torn, here. Oscar Isaac did remarkably well considering his scene partner was usually himself. The dual anchors of Egyptian mythology and mental health opened the show up to a myriad of possible arcs but the shift of complete episodes from one to another was jarring and worked against the flow of the action and the story. When the last episode ended, I found I had lost all interest in the characters and their world (although, the evolution of the first Egyptian Superhero was a bright spot). The after credit scene was at once, predictable and confusing. I’m going to give the series a 6 (fair) out of 10. [Psychological Superhero Action Adventure]
3 episodes in and it doesn't get better. poor choice for the lead with Oscar Isaac. as this is not the right part for him. the writing is crap, and the directors must of been so bored they fell asleep. no character buildup. I'll pass on the rest.
how is it possible to come up with such horrible story, dialogs
Honestly, just average. There is a lot of potential and sparks of brilliance; the casting is fantastic and the premise even better. However, they manage to turn what should have been a convoluted yet well-told psych thriller into a very straightforward tale. Expected something akin to Legion Season 1, got something much more pedestrian. They leave some open strands in the end — such as the third possible character inhabiting Mark/Steven’s body and the role of the hospital and why he’s back in his bed at the end — as if to say it isn’t so straightforward after all, tee hee, but those are such low-hanging fruits. Very few people would care if it didn’t pan out.
4/10
Worst D+ show by farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Like WW84 bad
Holy shit that's bad
4/10
NONSENSE OR SENSE
"NONSENSE"
Thee End
Roll credits....
Oscar Isaac just steals the show with extremely tremendously complex acting chops. Brilliant story telling and well curated background scores made this series quite entertaining to watch. Going for a second time binge for sure.
Truly an Oscar Isaac show.He played Steven and Marc, both characters with perfection. And Ethan Hawke gave his usual self in here.Music of the series was quite the thing to love.Especially,I fell in love with the song “A Man Without Love”.
Gonna say,a perfect show with action, myth and emotions.
I know there is still one episode left as I am writing this, but if Oscar Isaac does not get some kind of award for his acting in Moon Knight, I don't know what will.
Excellent so far!!! Extremely disappointed to find out that it's only 6 episodes though.
Great show, one of the best (maybe the best) marvel show from the new marvel series. Very intresting with the Egyptian stuff, good combat, great music and good actors.
ok mocn knight
the worst so far
Moonknight is just killing it.
Without doubt the best mcu show ive watched yet, blows garbage like loki away.
very good show, good casting, also funny.
Started childish. Probably their target audience is under 15.
absolutely loved the first episode, can't wait for the rest, should definitely watch if you like marvel or basicly anything to do with Sci fi.
The content and casting is great, but it is really hard to say why this doesn’t work. Perhaps it doesn’t go far enough in its exploration of Steven/Mark’s DID? Perhaps it’s the tacky CG (when it could have been terrifying and horror-esque), perhaps it’s the fairly linear plot (despite different personalities fronting?), or the weird hack of getting both characters in by having them talk to each other in mirrors? Perhaps it’s all of those things. The one massive positive is the soundtrack and the music - that’s absolutely fantastic. As for the rest… definitely watchable at least.
loved the 2nd episode
1
Excellent start to a series. I look forward to the next one
Another starts out strong gets weak then stupid and of course, predictable. Just a waste of time skip it.
I was so confused about what was happening most of the time :weary: Two extra stars for Layla who was f*cking hot in that costume :fire: And for Taweret who was such a delight
Visually, Moon Knight and everything around it is beautiful. The production into the sets and cgi and costumes is brilliant, but what isn't is the pacing. It's so slow yet complex that your taking in information that makes no sense but your following along.
To everyone watching Marvel shows: simply stop watching them.
It’s pointless really.
All you can say about all of them is always something bad, never compliments. I’m a big Marvel fan, I’ve catching up to do and I’ve recently watched Loki, Hawkeye and now Moon Knight. I’ve been reading comments about all of them and like 90% of the comments are SO negative.
I would love to see what you will be able to write and direct, you always talk like you know how to do everything and how everything is supposed to be, from casting choices to the right light in a scene.
I get the excitement you can have before these shows ever air, but don’t just destroy them because it’s not up to your stupid expectations of things.
Like all the shows out there are amazing right? But oh yeah wait, this is a marvel show so it has to be 1000 times better than anything else right? It doesn’t work like that anyway.
To whoever wants to watch Moon Knight especially and thinking not to because of all the stupid comments and ratings, please do watch it. It’s an amazing show, it’s funny, it doesn’t take itself too seriously but at the some time it does especially when it comes to Moon Knight personal story. It’s seriously gut wrenching seeing and understanding what he’s been through. I personally find it super interesting and I’m not even a big Egypt fan.
I still wonder what’s there not to like. Just peacefully watch it and let yourself be entertained.
Didn't make it thru it. ep 5 was just too out there for me.
Many criticized this show for its adaptation, but as someone who has never seen the source material, this show was an amazing experience and Steven Grant as a character remains one of the best
I enjoyed Marvel's exploration of Egyptian mythology and mental health illnesses, especially in Steven's and Marc's confrontations of their past. Unfortunately, this didn't help the overall lackluster story. Additionally, the CGI, lighting, and cinematography were occasionally jarring or difficult to follow. The series felt dull and messy, and the story lacks a deeper meaning.
Had to drop this. They did a real disservice to the character of Steven Grant by turning him into a bumbling clown. It was just hard to watch. A real shame.
How can I say what this show produces in me? :face_vomiting:
Loved it, great performance :ok_hand::thumbsup:
this is one hell of a confusing masterpiece.
The series is very uneven, Oscar Isaac is great in his roles, but only the story of Marc / Steven defends itself.
I didn't understand what was gannin on half the time. Maybe kids get it?
Reminds me of the series Legion. Though Legion is a fantastic experience and this here is pretty mediocre at best and mostly just annoying.
Moon Knight is a really different show. The first episode in particular had me breathless with anticipation, I kept wanting to know what on earth was up with this guy. The blackouts were a really good way of showing the audience that there was much more going on than meets the eye with Steven. The final blackout in the last episode is the one that really has impact. Khonshu introducing Harrow (and the viewers) to Jake Lockley was the real twist ending, and now that we know it’s not just Marc Spector and Steven Grant we have to wonder how many more there are.
Oscar Isaac was phenomenal in the lead. He was goofy and awkward as Steven and violent and sad as Marc. Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow was an amazing antagonist. Even in scenes where Harrow was trying to convince Steven that he was a good guy, there was something terrifying and dangerous just below the surface. And let’s not forget the amazing job F Murray Abraham did as the voice of Khonshu. He had just the right register and tone for the voice of an old Egyptian god, and his annoyance when Steven was in charge instead of Marc added some much needed levity to the show.
I also found the music for this show to be really fantastic. It added so much to the mood of the current scenes, and was even startlingly grand during reveal scenes. Hesham Nazih should be commended for his work keeping the score in line with the scenes and topical for the themes of the show as a whole.
Overall, Moon Knight has some scary scenes in it, but is very entertaining and worth watching.
Level "Interesting" • 7  • Entertaining and Good.
i loved to watch this show, and hopefully there wil come a season 2
My only comment is pls release an announcement for season 2.
First episode was good but after that it was a nose dive , boring as hell, full of non sense , don't be fooled by first episode
Well, too boring for me. The show is well designed but the whole plot as presented is extremely boring, focusing too much time on things that have no interest. Will be easily forgotten.
dammmmm what a disappointment.. was good at the beginning but then...
Starts off really strong but gets a bit confusing in the middle. However, it finishes strong.
oscar issac saved the show
really good show. worth watching.
I'll be honest, I'm starting to cool on the show at this point. I'm enjoying it, but for all the buzz about it being a gritty, hard hitting drama, it's more a jokey treasure hunt quest adventure than I expected. Which maybe I'll settle into, but I haven't yet. I do like the idea that all the Egyptian gods are still around, and those who aren't sealed away are still roaming the Earth quietly in a community of human avatars. That's a ripe concept for the MCU to expand upon with other theologies. I love that we see the disassociative blackouts from Marc's point of view as he keeps blipping in and out of action scenes Steven is actively trying to stop him from hurting people in, and with the bonus tease of the third persona who's leaving behind an even bloodier trail than Marc. I also like the earlier seeds of them having to work together and know when to let the other take a turn. Khonshu's sacrifice at the end is beautifully realized, adding some nice to layers to his cantakerous commands. And it's cool that Oscar Isaac gets to play yet another role as the god takes full control of the body for a bit.
Probably unpopular opinion: I (moderately) liked Moon Knight. The first three episodes have some nice ideas but are fairly traditional MCU stuff, borderline boring. Episode 4 is when it really starts working and it's a nice Marvel version of the Indiana Jones/The Mummy genre. Episode 5 is my favorite: smart, funny, entertaining and for once quite effecting in how it tries to inject mature themes and drama in a MCU thing. Episode 6 is what you would expect from it, but I enjoyed the new dynamic between the two versions of Moon Knight, the action with the "egyptian superhero" and the whole kaiju/gods aspects. Overall, I liked how it used cuts to (not) show the different personalities, I thought the acting was frankly much better than what the show deserved and I'm all for it embracing the more surreal stuff, with anthropomorphic beastly gods fighting each other. I didn't love the show but I enjoyed and while I don't think it's as good as Loki or as the first few episodes of Wandavision, it's certainly much better than the second half of Wandavision and than Hawkeye and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
the psyche ward episode makes me want to quit the show right now. I hate this cliché crap. Is it really worth going on ?
Very good show and setup unfortunately is held back a bit by being MCU.
The biggest mystery to the series is spoiled because you know how it has to go because it’s MCU.
They did do right to avoid any cameos
7.5/10
review for myself
I LOVE MOON KNIGHT!!! my favorite marvel character finally in live action and it was awesome :) gonna rewatch soon since i don't have to watch it weekly now but i loved this. oscar isaac fucking kills steven grant and marc spector, he did an absolutely outstanding job. the post-credits scene on the final episode got me so hyped for a second season with jake lockley, such a good first season 8/10
:heart:x7
The "voice" in the first couple of episodes reminded me way too much of Venom.
But once the show started to build it became more enjoyable and distinct. A couple more episodes would have been nice tho before closing out season 1.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
Loved it! Reminded me of split, Oscar is a really great actor. Especially when they showed the origins of his personalities.
Only wish I got to see the final fight with Jake...
You Don't have to know Moon Knight from the Comics to Enjoy this show. Not what I expected from Disney but a fantastic cast and Oscar Isaac came off as a brilliant actor with all the roles he had to play and Ethan Hawke the right type of villain for this vengeful superhero. A pyschological thriller packed with action and unexpected twists with it's core based on Egyptian mythology, I genuinely enjoyed every episode and I can't wait to see what Marvel does next, they have been hitting it out of the park with some of these shows and this one is not to be missed
Not bad, I like Isaac.
Move over, Hawkeye, there's a new winner leading the Disney+ shows.
I tend to be a little apprehensive toward any Star Wars and MCU shows that come out; for every Hawkeye and The Mandalorian, there's a Falcon & Winter Soldier and Book of Boba Fett. So, when I finished the first episode of Moon Knight, I was cautiously optimistic.
Then the second. And the third. Fourth, fifth. It got better and better with each episode. I found myself eager to sit down and watch the newest episode after work every week, the storytelling keeping me glued to the edge of my seat. There are naysayers out there who complain there's not enough Moon Knight action scenes, but it's in favour of some really good character-oriented development toward Steven and Marc; a trade I'll gladly take. Plus, the fight scenes we get are utterly fantastic, so there's no point in griping.
There is one little gripe I have, though: the show got progressively better until the final episode. It wasn't a bad episode by any means, but it felt a little rushed. An extra episode would have done wonders to the pacing in the finale. Plus, I just wanted more of what it was giving me, and I really wanted it to land on both feet. It did so, but it was a bit shaky.
Regardless, this has to be one of my favourite entries into the MCU in a long time. There's no required watching (so it stands on its own feet), and it's a really well-written character drama with cool supernatural elements. I'm really looking forward to what the Moon Knight gang gets up to in the future.
Disappointing, like all other MCU shows so far.
a refreshing change from the MCU stuff that's been going on
An enjoyable, more adult-than-kiddie live comic action adventure.
Oscar Isaac is perfect in this!
this was an interesting show while it was graphically great and the story line was good for a marvel. the twist were a pain to watch last two episodes could have been compressed into one main an hour at that. the show seemed to be huty by stretching scenes.
I absolutely loved the first episode but also felt a little cheated by the fact we saw most of this episode due to the heavy over-saturation in repetitious trailers from Marvel leading up to todays release.
I am a big fan of Moon Knight, so seeing such a niche yet anticipated character on screen and being already so visually familiar with what unfolded in episode one left me a bit meh yet also yeah!
Was interested in how a gift shop clerk could afford so much living space in Central London on his wage but came to the conclusion Marc pays the rent there.
Mystery solved.
I personally feel the Marvel TV shows are great in their use for cementing their universe and ultimately I'm just happy I'm seeing Moon Knight on screen.
Fair 8/10 to start.
Honestly guys Oscar Isaac makes everything better
This fantasy/psychological horror tv is wildly entertaining from start to finish. It's without a doubt the best MCU show so far.

I can’t fault Oscar Isaac’s performance but everything else was rather safe and poor overall.
