I'm glad they called him out on his anti-Halloween bullshit! Mans was really about to take the pumpkins his mom's customer gave her as a gift, and even lie to try and take them instead of telling the truth about what he was doing. So manipulative. :weary: He even throws a fit in front of her and all the other customers who are helping decorate. He has no shame—it really is a special ability, lmao. At least they were able to find his contradictions. When someone's lying, you'll always end up finding a hole somewhere! Hahaha. I know it's supposed to be part of the comedy, but it was so annoying have to sit through his spiel when I knew what his true motive was, and see poor mama so dejected.
When Mitsuru says "Ayako spoils Harumi. She'll only care about money at this rate" and mama looks at him in a moment of realization, LOL. Another interesting part was when Harumi says her mom is "good at not hearing what makes her look bad" but then Mitsuru derails the conversation when she questions his "lifestyle" hahaha.
While everyone in this show is starting to show more of their faults and inner feelings, it's interesting to watch because it's realistic as well. No one is perfect, and many people will criticize other people before looking at themselves. Heck, even I did that in this comment. If anything, it's a realization to me to be more accepting and understanding of others, and how conflicts can be resolved (or at least clarified a bit) through talking about them. The scene at the Chinese restaurant was pack filled with drama, but felt nice at the end when it felt like people could finally get their feelings off their chest but still eat dad's favourite dish as a family. It's interesting to see how someone's passing can bring people together.
