I wouldn't mind the plot if in the end, instead of being suspended they were shown that the reason why the couple couldn't get a biological child was because they were meant to adopt one, and because of their actions another orphan would be raised without parents. IMAGINE the possibilities of plots that could develop and the implications of this in the trios relationship. What a wasted opportunity for not only keep the talk about orphan children, but to make a plot that could actually be good.
