Just when i thought i was out, they pull me back in. THIS is how you do low budget old tv show horror anthology episodes. Because there's a whole lot of these kinds of old anthologies and i've seen a lot. Most are merely ok, but then you have little diamonds in the rough like this episode, and it feels good to stumble upon something that is of good quality that few people have seen.
I mean what can i say, an excellent performance by the lead actor, as a lot is put on him in this episode, but he rises to the challenge. And the actor had a career after this episode, and we can see why. The whole story is pretty good and feels absolutely 90s/early 2000s, as you can't really do this kind of story today, which makes it feel better as a story. You feel the increasing paranoia along with the character, and it even becomes quite scary as the episode goes along. The ending is a bit weak, but it's a satisfactory enough twist. It's a decent enough twist and i liked it. There's some flaws in the episode along with it being too short, but it's damn scary and entertaining enough to be carried through and given a good rating. I would have liked to have seen this be a full entire episode, where we see a bit more of the side characters, an expanded look into the building and more of a cat and mouse game, and maybe even some creepy stuff over the phone. But as it is, this a good episode that surprisignly got under my skin and me feel a similar sense of paranoia as the character, and that's how you know the fear has got to you. Well done.
