I must say although the beginning inside the town didn't fit the style of the show so far and despite it feeling weird to have such american-seeming children in a clearly Japanese town, I really enjoyed that part. I am a bit sad that the story lost so much of its fantastical and fable like identity even though I had already found the headlight-Oni to have a car-like quality and wondered whether Onaris horns were made of Noridons horn but I am also a sucker for the old humans-destroying-nature moral. I am definitely curious what will happen, so overall a solid episode. Style and visual quality push it up a bit further. I dont know whether I like or dislike the ET and Lion King quotes. They were a nice nod, I guess, but somehow they take me out of the story.
