Unpopular opinion: I was not a big fan of this episode. It was too obvious for the killers to be the Dimases, yet they ended up spending an entire episode going down that theory again. So, in the end we don't have any new information. We are onto the 9th episode and we still don't have a minor clue who would be the murderer.
The ending saved this episode because of the twist. This sends the investigation into a whole new direction, and I'm hoping for something interesting.
If Jane is dead I won't be mad, she may be right but is still so annoying. I think she's been stabbed but will survive.
Who in the building has connections to the police? How are the police involved?
Why would Theo take Oliver and Mabel to show them the place where they dispose bodies? He could have got his father down to the basement. And how did Theo manage to tie two people up all by himself?
Was that a good “shit, fuck, fuck”? Martin Short deserves to win an Emmy for this show, he provides like 90% of the humor. He was on fire in this episode.
“Reverse helpful” is getting added to my vocab.
This might be my favorite ep so far: mystery intrigue at full speed, banter so good from gathering characters both major and minor almost always together throughout, and just when I thought they cannot surprise me anymore humor-wise, Da'Vine Joy Randolph's policewoman uses the podcast for investigation, and Martin Short ropes in those podcast fans for some prime meta jokes.
I mean it was never gonna be the Dimiases this far from the finale but I did enjoy the ride. I really wanted someone to say that Jan was being a real Yoko in this episode coz that's exactly the dynamic but it seems she may have been onto something!
Also glad someone at least acknowledged their age gap in the show even as a cursory comment.
“Was that a good ‘shit, fuck, fuck’”? Haha best line of the show.
After that last scene - which impacted the character I was firmly believing to be the killer, I'm not sure anymore who's the culprit.
Maybe the Indian actor who speaks to Steve Martin occasionally? Or the girl in the basement who provided the Gut Milk? But I'm struggling to see any threads. And either the show is doing a great job with the mystery or is all over the place - we'll find out soon. Irrespective, I'm loving this show - its a true highlight for 2021 for me. Martin Short was excellent.
Plot twist - it was Mabel all along.

story moving along and good little twists happening, feel show may have peaked and is as good as gonna be
Again, I'm loving these shifts which uncover parts of the story by exploring it from a completely new perspective.
And absolutely great episode. I loved the superfans. They were a hoot.
Jan was annoying, though. I have to agree with Putnam, she was the opposite of helpful. Too bad she couldn't do more than muddy the waters. Her suggestions were crap without an actual reason or some semblance of logic. If she had said something along the lines of the superfans at the end, ”why would the Dimases sponser something that would out them?”, then her suggestions would have carried a lot more weight.
I mean it’s good cause they are guilty about Zoe, incriminating Oscar, threatening Kono, the grave robbing, so it’s like justice for Oscar!
And I didn’t trust Jan! I thought she was involved, that’s sad
My concern for Brazzos' GF has me all emotional -- really wanna watch the next ep RIGHT NOW...but, gonna make myself wait 'till tomorrow. F%k, I hope she's okay!

I thought this was the season finale, that ending would have been an excellent segue for the (already announced) second season. But it seems likely that they'll wrap up Tim Kono's case this season. Or not. It's all getting very exciting towards the end!
Gotta look forward to those two episodes left!
