1x03 The Time

Not a huge fan of 40 minutes of essentially nothing followed by 10 minutes of good stuff.

So we all agree that Autumn is basically either Royal's sister or mother, right?

Five minutes of interesting skiffy stuff on the back end of the episode doesn't change the fact that the first 40 minutes are useless soap opera filler.

got to know Autumn a lil bit (very little she's still an enigma though I have theories)

the last 10 minutes or so is where this ep truly shines

The character playing Perry Abbott, Tom Pelphrey, reminds me of Patrick Swayze, looks a bit like him somehow.

I'm a fan of the slow and methodical story, but this episode really wasted a bit too much time. Did we really need a scene of Billy picking up Amy on the side of the road? Then to have him sing as he drives? WTF? I'm all for character building and background, but this just didn't fit at all.

I had a feeling that was going to happen, just as it happened to Royal, but, Royal had to JUMP BACK through, so, then, who threw room temperature Tillerson back?

There is definitely SOMETHING off about Autumn, but as of yet I can't quite put my finger on it.

I realize these are "good country folk" living in a non urban environment, but seeing that this takes place at least in part in 2022, IRL, would ranch parents just let their young elementary school aged granddaughter just run off into the woods alone? Damn, after all, Royal and the boys are well aware of how dangerous some of those fine country folks can be....
