Love rewatching this just appreciating Root. That small moment when Reese sends her down the ladder. She looks up and genuinely thanks him. On a rewatch you can see the real Root in there with her smile as she goes. It wasn't a thank you for saving her. It was a thank you for enabling her capture of Finch.
Then every moment of her in the car is chefs kiss. Love this character and she only gets better.
Holy wow, that was intense. Reese getting cornered by HR and the FBI, Finch pulling through at the VERY last minute (cut it real close there, but of course, what would this be without the thrill), AND Alicia snooping around. SO good. Also very glad that Carter and Fusco now finally know about each other.
Always a pleasure to see Clarke Griffin's mom back as the sultry fixer Zoe Morgan.
I'm jealous of everyone who got to watch this and the reveal at the end without knowing (what I have sadly known long before starting this) that the POI is Root and that she would eventually become part of the team. Because daaamn, Amy Acker did such a switch there, very convincing as the good doctor and then did the psycho hacker well lmao (come to think of it, it is very Claire/Whiskey too; I kept wondering why this particular actress x character combination felt kind of familiar).
Also... The Machine is sort of sentient? I know about AI, but that's a whole 'nother level.

Finally, Carter and Fusco learn the truth. Reese and Finch get blindsided by Root.
Oh, Finch and Root, Reese and Root... loved the cat and mouse game in the hotel and Finch's intervention with the cell phones so that none except those issued by Finch work anymore.
The final quarter of this season was spectacular.

A great season finale indeed! I'm so glad I picked up this show. Haven't enjoyed an action series this good since 24.
What was the reason for the "HR" cop counting down before triggering the explosions? It was the perfect moment and they were all safely standing somewhere just waiting for the "zero" count!
the entire episode is excellent but the last few minutes were something crazy to watch. and suddenly i'm in love with a villain
This is the second time I am watching this show. Even though I remembered what was going to happen in the episode, it was still exciting to see it unfold, onward to S2.

That was an amazing season finale to an amazing season. Maybe the best first season of a show. It's right up there with the first season of Heroes. Besides that I can't think of any show that has 5 episodes in row as good as the last five of this season.
Truly the best example of what TV can do and for one of the big moldy 3.
