Honestly for such a cheesy concept involving a spin off of a character no one wanted to follow up with. It's not nearly as bad as you might fear. One of the things the show does well and IMO the most important is show restraint. Pitch Perfect as a franchise is rife for oversaturation. There's room to overdo the jokes and run them into the ground and while the jokes are there they don't. You keep waiting for the show to go off the rails into pure cringe the way pitch perfect fans kinda can be cringe. But it doesn't. It's kinda fun, pretty good, and has a pretty strong dose of sincerity.
